The one who shot at him seems to be a Republican.

It doesn't mean anything at this point. We do not know what his motives were for the assassination attempt.

@Unholymanswers but that indicates it was put into place?
I don't know if I believe it or not ,but it was reported and unless you have some proof he wasn't a Republican I'm not sure what this matters?
I really don't care if he was a Democrat or a Republican he's tried to shoot the president and he's killed someone that's what I focus on.
Anything else is conspiracy theories, bias, and hate.

@DealingWithTrouble I was concerned about that bit of news, also. Thomas Matthew Crooks may have been a registered Republican voter, but the FBI discovered that he has been contributing money to a radical leftist political group. I think his voter registration was his cover, so he could blend in.

@4meAndyou his social media pictures also show him wearing the merchandise of a YouTube gun channel that supported far-right Republican candidates.

“This shirt is more than just apparel; it’s a statement of unity and shared passion for firearms and the Second Amendment,” the website selling the t-shirts said.

@DealingWithTrouble Obviously a VERY effed up young man. I saw an interview with another young man who went to high school with him, and he said the kid always ate his lunch alone, because he was bullied.

@Justmeraeagain It means that they don’t have a date for when he registered to vote. The right wing themed outfit, no voter registration date, and “registered” as a republican is all smells like a way for liberals to cover their tracks. They know there was going to be hell to pay if they tried killing Trump.

The orange traitor has billions of enemies around the world who want him dead, including his wife. Maybe the kid was her hitman? He's pissed off all on the NATO countries and Ukraine as well as the entire FBI agency. And Hoover was not shy about getting rid of people who ticked him off.

Former student Max R. Smith remembered Crooks as an intelligent classmate with conservative political leanings. Smith recalled participating in a mock debate in a course they took together, where their teacher posed questions on government policy and had students stand on opposite sides of the classroom to signal their support or opposition.
“The majority of the class were on the liberal side, but Tom, no matter what, always stood his ground on the conservative side,” Smith said. “That’s still the picture I have of him. Just standing alone on one side while the rest of the class was on the other.
