Yes, the lifeboat has valid criticisms. We might not be able to lower it into the ocean and it could have unforeseen problems like many lifeboats have. Changing vessels at this late stage has never been done. before abd has a large element of risk.

Meanwhile, the Titanic sinking is a near mathematical certainty and everyone else can see the hole in the boat.
