Should NATO restore democracy to France?

The party that won the most votes in the election has been given the third most seats, and the Communists now are in charge, which is a major setback in The War Against Communism.

Should NATO begin staging troops to take the country back and restore democracy and western values?

Didn't Clinton get more votes than Trump in 2016? Maybe NATO can start with the USA

France is a democracy - whilst I do not agree with the way one bunch of parties colluded to prevent a party they (or you?) don't like from winning a general-election, the voting was under France's own system, there is no suspicion of irregular voting, the Communist Party is not "in control" but even if there is a Communist Party of France, even if it did put up candidates and won votes... frankly it is France's business. Not yours, not mine, not NATO's.

It is not NATO's policy to go barging into a NATO member's country to try to overturn its elections!

It might be as well to consider though that in a democracy, a hard-line party of any ideology will tend to encourage hard-line parties of opposite ideology.

(I am not French, do not live in France and have no connection with the country.)
From west Africa to Hawaii they've rejected NATO but NATO wins?
@basilfawlty89 The Azeri are Turks. And yes I am aware of the evacuations.

I not only do Open Source Intelligence and nearly live news feeds of wars around the planet, I also study history and ancient philosophy and military strategy and works on statecraft. In other words, I comprehend the region more than you ever will. Only way region enters NATO is as a triad, and already under a Turkish common market.

Feel free to bring up old Soviet news paper clips, or of Turkey's Ottoman Empire mechanized invasion of central asia right before it collapsed, or of Kurds tossing Armenians on spears, or of Turkomen blowing up bunkers in Manjib, or Iranians screaming about defending Armenia from the Azeri. I know it already. Fuck, I know their medieval history too. I'm literally that guy who stays up all night reading this stuff. And I know other parts of the world too, and other subjects as well.

@Theophrastus I wouldn't call starving a civilian population for 9 months then invading militarily so much an "evacuation" as ethnic cleansing.

Again, good for you that you know all this. Bit if you think that Armenians are Turks are gonna be bffs and Turks will stop wanting an Armenia without Armenians, you're living in a pipe dream.

The only Turks who are even marginally supportive of Armenians are leftist Turks.
@basilfawlty89 Hence why the region won't be in NATO anytime soon, if ever.
Actually, the defeat of the extreme Right IS a win for democracy.

NATO should probably keep out of it. Democracy means people choose what they want.

To many country's push there "wants" on other countries.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Katybe
The wants of the USA come to mind.
Katybe · 31-35, F
@swirlie it's not just the US.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
More like get rid of NATO. It has no purpose to protect Europe.

No. Their version of democracy works the way they wanted it to.

Same way american one doesn't attribute power on number of votes.

Stop suggesting violence when someone else wins. Violence helps no one. Including you.
Cierzo · M
No, let the French suffer the consequences of their mistake.
No pity for them at all when the next islamist terrorist attack happens, I will just think 'you get what you voted for'.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
Nato has no say in France and the communists have only a few seats
Get your facts straight
France is a democratic country
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F

@Strictmichael75 Give me even one example of what I said that is inaccurate.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow France is certainly not done with NATO and France hasn’t always gone along with the US, they refused to join the US on the fake proof from Colin Powel
