DOJ Admits FBI ‘Added Cover Sheets’ to Mar-a-Lago Raid Photo Captures
Special counsel Jack Smith’s case against former President Donald Trump regarding stolen national security documents has taken an unexpected turn.
According to the documents, the FBI reportedly found “loose classified cover sheets” that were located in Trump’s office in a “blue leatherbound box.” It was discovered that some of those documents already had classified cover sheets on them, raising concerns.
Conservative reporter Julie Kelly pointed out the findings and provided a timeline. The documents were found in August 2022 with classified cover sheets, according to FBI agents.
Fast forward to February 2024. The story was that FBI agents allegedly arrived at the raid with cover sheets to use as “placeholders” as an indicator of where the documents were found.
Now in June, it is reported that FBI agents attached the placeholders to documents and photographed them instead, showing that the government’s story keeps changing.
More disturbingly, the report stated that security cameras were turned off for almost 20 minutes, raising a red flag.
“At approximately 9:55 a.m., the CCTV servers were turned off to prevent recording, at the request of the FBI, out of concern for agent safety,” the report said. “At approximately 10:20 a.m., recording resumed, at the direction of Trump attorneys.”
A Mar-a-Lago employee also confirmed during an interview with the DOJ that the cameras were turned off.
This new detail raises the question as to why the agents felt that their safety was on the line. When safety is a concern, security cameras are usually turned on instead of off.
These latest findings have many wondering if the case against Trump will be dropped.
