The AG has never had the right to "fire" a president. That would clearly be unconstitutional. If you are talking about the current trial and the other charges, Trump shouldn't have committed crimes if he didn't want to be prosecuted.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@sree251 Trump's crimes on January 6 were part of his ongoing scheme to steal the election from Joe Biden. If he didn't want to be prosecuted for those crimes, he should not have committed them.

The issue before SCOTUS is not whether or not the US Attorney General has standing in prosecuting a US President. The issue described in the SCOTUS petition is as follows (from the scotusblog website): "that petition is granted limited to the following question: Whether and if so to what extent does a former President enjoy presidential immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office." It doesn't even mention the AG.

Nice try, but wrong as usual.

Trump ceased to exist after he assumed office of the US President in January 20, 2017 to January 20, 2021.

@sree251 says
We have lost our moral compass as a Christian nation - thanks to the secular push for a separation of church from state.
[big]ROTFL😂🤣😂🤣[/big]

(1) Separation of church and state has been there since the beginning! Just ask Thomas Jefferson!!

(2) We've NEVER been a "Christian nation." The Constitution's First Amendment makes all religions EQUAL!!

(3) Speaking of lost moral compasses, our current refugee crisis is a near perfect moral litmus test.
@sree251 says
A Christian country is defined by ...
The US is defined by its Constitution and laws. Full stop. The laws say there is no preferred religion in the US. There is no mention of Christianity in the US code. Deal with it.

P.S. You are STILL ducking my point about how, speaking of lost moral compasses, our current refugee crisis is a near perfect moral litmus test. A test the party of "Christian culture" is failing miserably. Do you care to address the point raised by Stephen Colbert? Or will you duck again??

@ElwoodBlues
About the Founders? I know what's been recorded and published in the Federalist papers and in the Founders' letters. What do YOU know??
We can both read the same piece of Bach composition and play different interpretation of his music. The US Government committing and supporting the commissioning of genocide is a prime example of how far we have strayed as a nation founded on Christian morality. You support US foreign policy. I don't.
Oh wow, the racism & bigotry surfaces, LOL!!!
Calling you out as a supporter of genocidal US foreign policy is being a racist and a bigot? You are definitely not an American, a person who values freedom and free speech.
Do you even understand what the Constitution is? It's mostly a set of restrictions on the Federal Government, saying the Government can only do these itemized things and no other things. It's not my fault if you built a bunch of fantasies outside the Constitution.
The US Constitution enshrines Christian values. I cannot discuss it with you who don't share those values. To you, it is just a bunch of papers with rules the meaning of which are dependent on the crook who says what they are.

I think the Colbert statement is pretty fair. Are white Christian American selfishness a reflection of Jesus' own nature? Or are we refusing to live the way Jesus taught?

I see a divergence between white Christian American moral commitment, and US Government policy. Our current refugee crisis is a creation of the immoral US Government led by a ruling elite that is not of the people working for the people.

Deep State USA has gone nuts. We have lost our moral compass as a Christian nation - thanks to the secular push for a separation of church from state. Now, it's a free for all desecration of the principles of the US Constitution as authored by its Christian founders.

I hope he has his photo ID. He may need to buy a loaf of bread. 🤗
Does this go back to 2021 when Trump was shopping for an AG loyal to him, or is it in connection with the idea that he's President for life?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MistyCee The Trump Management System clearly wouldn't meet the requirements of an ISO management system, because it doesn't have an "organizational culture that reflexively engages in a continuous cycle of self-evaluation, correction and improvement of operations and processes through heightened employee awareness and management leadership and commitment." It would, however meet the definition of a management system, defined as "the way in which an organization manages the interrelated parts of its business in order to achieve its objectives." In the Trump Management System, it would have a sole objective--doing Trump's bidding at all times. A simple objective for a simpleton is highly appropriate.

Then it’s OK because the AG can’t fire his boss, only Congress can.

@ElwoodBlues I have just open a new tread to address your incredulity. The sense of authority and command of subject matter you guys have are mind-blowing.

@ElwoodBlues He can't answer, so he's just being insulting.

With Democrats arresting opponents, it's just a matter of time before some states decide to break away. Texas is a good candidate, having its preferred presidential candidate arrested and having the federal government allowing millions of illegals to flood the state.

@AbbySvenz You are not assimilated into the traditional American culture, Abby. You may be a US citizen, and that's ok.
