I was incredulous at the time. I couldn't take in the bravado I saw on TV, nor could I believe that Arabs could technically pull it off. Not even Tom Cruise could have conceived of such a plot for a mega American movie.
I met a retired fighter pilot on vacation in Beaufort, SC. He was a Top Gun instructor. I asked him about his views of the Arabs flying those commercial jets into the World Trade Center. He snickered.
