Biden says U.S. economy is world's best. Trump calls it a 'cesspool.' Which one is right? Let's check the data shall we?

Inflation has fallen sharply from its 2022 highs, although it has ticked back up in the past several months.

Meanwhile, U.S. gross domestic product grew 2.5% in 2023, significantly outpacing that of other developed economies, according to a January report from the International Monetary Fund. The IMF projected that the U.S. will hold that lead in 2024, though it expects the rate to come down to 2.1%.

In March, U.S. private companies added 184,000 jobs, payrolls processing firm ADP reported on Wednesday, well ahead of the Dow Jones upwardly revised estimate of 155,000 jobs. It is the fastest employment growth the U.S. economy has seen since July 2023.

Now ask normal people what they think
@gol979 Many countries experienced a pandemic that impacted business and their economies.

@softspokenman i would say you had authoritarian governments closing down supply chains and business (real economy) for rebranded flu. Then printed trillions of inflation inducing funny money.

Now ask normal people what they think
@gol979 "The Dreaded Trump Ego" It's a hoax by the democrats, It will be gone in the Spring like magic or a miracle, we've rounded the conner and it's going away, cant we use blue light and bleach? By the time he ordered Warp Speed on vaccines thousands of people had died, jobs lost, business and the Economy impacted. Yes, the authoritarian government of the "Stable Genius".

'Nobody knows more about medicine, pandemics, vaccines, business, and economies than trump does.

@softspokenman trump is also an authoritarian. Maga crowd somehow "forget" that orange man imposed lockdowns and tried to force people into injecting operation warp speed maga jabs.

Again, ask normal people what they think
@gol979 I believe that I did that in my follow-up reply but I am bias and not sure about how "normal" I am.

@softspokenman so because orange man didnt impose overt authortarianism sooner thats why the economy is in the pits??......well, its a point of view i suppose
@gol979 🤔Hmmm, I suppose that if he had imposed his vast and superior knowledge of business and economies he would have just snapped his fingers and we would have been living in a utopia, instantly, if not sooner. But, since no one else has those abilities we just have to work at cleaning up the devastation caused by the pandemic at slower pace. There was only 303,000 new jobs added in March. Every little bit helps. 👍
