My wife’s iPhone, in the USA, had its news stories censored by the Israeli government.
No joke. She changed her “region” setting to israel, and suddenly her news app was restricted!!!

@justanothername it says a lot about what those sites gather about their visitors to be honest. The EU laws don't forbid any data collection. They only force websites to explain what they want to gather and for what purpose, and ask permission to do so before storing anything. If that's a reason to not show any content, you know what they collect in the background is shady.

@Northwest in this case, apple news app no longer appeared on her app list, and when she tried to download again it told her it was restricted. She changed back to USA location, and all was fine.
