Israeli Air Strikes kill three British aid workers in Gaza

The IDF must be disappointed with such a low number. /S. The British government say they are unhappy "In no uncertain terms."

Analogy

Let’s say you know cops are using radar along a road to catch speeders. You go down that road and speed and get pulled over by the cops and given a ticket. Now is it the cops fault? Or yours for speeding down that road?

The aid workers were in a war zone. They knew the risks and they went anyway.

@graphite Where have I shed a tear for Hamas?

@specman 'The aid workers were in a war zone.'

They were in a deconflicted zone.

@graphite Israel's response has been entirely disproportionate and solely based on revenge.

@BritishFailedAesthetic So there you have it. You blame the Israelis for defending themselves and not the Hamas terrorists who use their own people as human shields, while Hamas billionaires hide out in Qatar. The Hamas terrorists love your response.

@specman so in reality, they are the true heroes in this nasty game. Kind of like the first responders that risked their lives going into the WTC. I guess they got what they deserved also?? How heartless to compare someone breaking the law speeding to people that are risking their lives to save others. A new low for you!

@specman Oh, I see. So nobody should bother trying to give aid to the civilians who are at risk dying for lack of food and water? It's the aid workers' fault for trying to help the innocent?
@graphite Ok, so next time someone wrongs you, make sure to extract revenge on their entire immediate and extended family.
specman · 51-55, M
@LordShadowfire aid workers know the risks and they know the needs of the people. They chose to take the risk.
Did you read my analogy?
@specman What bit of them already sharing their coordinates with the IDF did you not understand?

@RodionRomanovitch that whole area is a war zone

@Handfull1 trying to turn it around on me?
New low for you. Oops no your regular self!

@BritishFailedAesthetic like I said a lot of risk. Don’t be mad at me for them taking a risk.

@specman Utterly ridiculous thing to say.

The WCK volunteers travelled on a pre-authorised route with the IDF, who also knew what time this aid convoy was travelling.

There were 3 strikes total over a 2.4km distance. After the first strike, surviving volunteers tried to move the injured into other vehicles before being hit by another two strikes further down the road (again, a route that had already been authorised by and detailed to the IDF).

So, in brief - no, it’s not “too bad, it’s a war zone”. This is a crime against humanity.

@graphite Congratulations, you’ve won todays game of “dumbest whataboutism”.

No one here said a thing about the atrocities committed on October 7th. But whatever happened then, doesn’t mean the IDF now get a free pass to brutalise civilians, volunteers, aid workers, journalists etc.

Launching multiple strikes on a known and pre-authorised aid convoy is an atrocity. If you can’t agree to something that basic, your mind is too far gone for me to interact with.
specman · 51-55, M
@OctoberEyes like I said risks!
graphite · 61-69, M
@OctoberEyes Um, I've already explained this - the Hamas terrorists are using civilians as human shields to dupe people like you into opposing Israel's right to defend itself against these terrorists. Let me know if there is anything else I can explain to you. Happy to help.
OctoberEyes · 26-30, M
@specman No, nothing like what you said at .

The point of deconfliction aid operations is that you avert the risk.

In Ukraine, despite how awful Russia have been, they’ve managed to avoid deconfliction operations for two years, pausing attacks and checking convoys have departed before resuming their attacks.

If Russia can do this, so could the IDF. The point is, they don’t care. This was an attack with intent, that would have never happened had they followed basic humanitarian guidelines, and possessed a modicum of humanity.
