Most US Conservatives think that the 2020 election was rigged.

So why bother standing in the next one? It doesn't make any sense, if you genuinely think that the system will be set against you.

Also, the Democrats rigged it extremely badly because they didn't give themselves a super-majority.

It's a case of people choosing to believe what they want. If all politicians are liars, then pick the lie you like the best. suspend disbelief, like you would watching a movie.

I think part of it is personal responsibility for their own beliefs.... If what they believe, they will win the election, doesn't come true it's because someone wasn't playing fairly.

There's always a reason why what they believe to be true doesn't manifest, there's always a "them" to blame.

@Convivial Yes it gives rise to concern and I really don't know how stable the American Republic is. (Fun fact: I really think Mr. Trump's foreign policy was essentially right, especially regarding his critique of European countries and his support for Israel.)

@helenS as they say, Mussolini got the trains to run on time... No one is always wrong,... But I'd prefer my world to have late trains and no Trump.

The American republic has weathered some hiccups in the past... But those same hiccups expose the tensions that lie beneath... Which is stronger?....i don't know, but i fear it will face it's greatest test shortly
