Can I do a MarkPaul imitation here?
"Does it matter the The Base that..."?
My answer: Probably not.
Hopefully fixing problems instead of using them will appeal to enough voters, and maybe eventually we'll get better government.
But, I don't think "the Base" is going to buy that. There's way too much desire there to profit either emotionally or monetarily from twisting the government and even breaking it or overthrowing it.
I'll say this, though. I think Katie Britt comes off way better than Palin or MGT. As Alyssa Farah noted, though there was something odd about that performance. She was, though, a fairly animated and expressive Stepford Wife.

The founders never envisioned the sheer number of career civil service people. It is not a secret that those folks bring their personal politics to the job every day. @MarkPaul

@jackjjackson Yeah, we're making the same point. Where we diverge is... career politicians don't have the guts or fortitude and the electorate doesn't have the attention span to change the whole system back to its original intent. So, this is what we must work with.

I suppose I’m an optimist who would l8ke changes. @MarkPaul
It used to be that the base would vote against their own self interests and R Congress/Senate would vote Party Line, no need to read the bills but now they vote against their own bills because they don't want their party leader to attack them.

Yet again;
The Corporate Duopoly of Republicans and Democrats is hopelessly Corrupt and sadistic. People who look to Political Indentured Servants on Capitol Hill and State Capitols to solve their problems are COMPLICIT in their own throats being cut. The World Reserve Currency Status of the US Dollar is weaponized against Sovereign Countries and Foreign Citizenry to bring them to their knees is and has backfired terribly and horribly. Peace, Commerce, Honest Friendship, and Liberty🗽 is the only thing that'll mitigate the disaster and collapse of the US Government's Ponzi Scheme and the crash of the US Bubble Economy. Time has run out...

Marianne Williamson has nothing to do with it. She’s the least of anyone's concern or problem when the American Public, Taxpayers, and Consumers very soon realize and understand how and why they got played like Violins by the very same Political Indentured Servants they elected to represent their Interests and the "General Welfare" of the Country.
The Welfare State is disintegrating as the demands and expectations grow exponentially while the Wealth to pay for it has vanished. The Warfare State has brought about Blowback and Unintended Consequences like the 1973 Oil Shock and subsequent Embargo, and of course the 9/11 Attacks. The CEOs of Enron and WorldCom knew the jig was up at some point, the Voters and Electorate are figuring it out too. It's Over!

Katie Britt was not the right choice for the Republican response to Biden’s SOTU.

@soar2newhighs Well, she was coached by Cry-Baby-trump campaign officials. Luckily, they didn't give her the Cry-Baby-trump make-up tutorial. I feel sorry for her kids at school the day after. She should have thought about that... claiming to be so interested in families and all.
