It's too bad that the banks weren't big/smart enough to appraise the property values for themselves... 🙄

No bank is going to operate long taking a customer at their word and never verifying for underwriting purposes.

@easterniowegin 'Splain to us the difference between assesed value and the value someone is willing to pay for it
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@sunsporter1649 the assessed value is set by govt for prop tax purposes, only...it might be close but is NOT the market value, as the govt typically doesn't constantly reassess values to keep current with the market.

The banks typically gather their own appraisals of properties (which cover themselves from loss based on market value at the time).
Neither the assessed value nor the bank appraisal are set by the customer.

@easterniowegin Ta Da, you win the top prize. Now try and 'splain that to the left-wing nut-job marxists
Strictgram · 70-79, C
@easterniowegin Banks have appraisal departments who determine market value. Govt assessed value has nothing to do with market value. Borrowers opinion has no bearing on loan amount granted. Leftist judge and prosecutor are all that mattered in this case. And only marxist fools believe this was an objective, just decision.

@Strictgram They will always believe what their authority figures tell them to believe. Like good sheep, they keep quiet and follow the ass in front of them.

@sunsporter1649 Hmmmm...and yet the NY Judicial system sided with the plaintiff for some reason.

I wonder which side is right....
Vin53 · M
@easterniowegin Right. I'm sure their state laws don't come into play whatsoever.
Strictgram · 70-79, C
@easterniowegin Who says the banks didn't do appraisals?
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@Strictgram the banks actually stood up for him in court. They were happy doing business with him. They always do appraisals. His stated values were meaningless in that context.
Strictgram · 70-79, C
@easterniowegin The banks supported Trump because they were repaid with interest. They were anything but victims.
Prison1203 · 61-69, M
@easterniowegin you mean like democrats?
@Strictgram Nice fairytale!! Actually, in the real world, numerous bank officers testified AGAINST Trump.

See the excerpted testimony of Donald Bender, Camron Harris, Nicholas Haigh, Doug Larson, Michael Holl, and others. Happy reading!!
