When you get a parking ticket for overstaying at the meter, is there a victim?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@beckyromero Yup, somebody who wanted to use that spot, and the loss of revenue to the department that installed the meter

@sunsporter1649

Thank you!

So, when Trump falsified docs to get a loan, that's money the bank could have been lent out to someone else that needed it that did NOT falsify documents! Maybe they didn't get a loan at all! Maybe as a result, their business failed. Workers got laid off, collecting unemployment, perhaps food stamps and other government benefits they otherwise wouldn't have needed. Their Social Security payments in the long run take a hit due to the loss of income if they can't find a job that pays more during that year.

Isn't debating with me fun? 😜

@beckyromero

Trump isn't the first nor the last to do this
Most people i know will fudge something on the application to get better rate etc
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@pdockal Trump did it to an insane degree. Like I told the other guy, it's like seeing the person handing out free samples at the supermarket, and taking all of them.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Lila15 And then that person replaced all the items, with a few extra
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@sunsporter1649 Let's say you're on vacation. I break into your house, throw a party for my friends, then clean up before you get back. According to you, no crime was committed.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@sunsporter1649 He would not have gotten the loan without lying. So paying it back was irrelevant. He harmed the other people who didn't get loans because they told the truth.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Lila15 So stealing secret documents, hiding them for years in multiple locations, unguarded and accessable to anyone, is not a crime, eh? What world do you live in?

Gosh, returning more money than borrowed somehow harms....somebody. Got it
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@sunsporter1649 You're talking about Trump, right? Because he's being prosecuted for that.

So you're saying it's OK for me to break into your house while you're not there as long as I make sure to put everything back the way it was.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@sunsporter1649 Yes, and the Republican special prosecutor who investigated this said that Biden did nothing wrong before tossing in some gratuitous bile about Biden's mental state.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Lila15

Then your clueless how things get done
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@pdockal What do you mean, "how things get done?" The special prosecutor investigated and found no evidence of wrongdoing. He then violated procedural codes by adding a bunch of negative verbiage with no evidence or any bearing on the case. He hasn't released the transcripts of those conversations, so for all we know, he just made them up or misinterpreted them. The way "things get done" is legal briefs offer evidence for all conclusions and don't make unfounded allegations.

Look, I get that you hate Joe Biden with the fire of a thousand suns, but this report is just a gratuitous attack. And everyone's already forgotten about it.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Lila15

DISCLAIMER : neither party is for "WE THE PEOPLE"

First i don't hate any president
I hate those that are nothing but negative about one and can't see how bad the other is (no names used)

Second to answer you question in business/ construction things get exaggerated all the time

Third your entitled to your opinion but your not entitled to force it on others

So unfounded allegations don't exist ?
So legal briefs can't every be manipulated ?

Your naieve
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@pdockal This is why defendants are entitled to due process. Since you're such an expert, you should have volunteered your services to Trump's legal team since his own attorneys weren't aware of the information you seem to have.

Things get exaggerated in business and construction, but not to the levels Trump was doing it. It's like going into the supermarket and someone is handing out free samples, so you take all of them. What Trump did went way beyond normal exaggeration and amounted to fraud.

How am I forcing my opinion on anyone? I'm just one person.

Regarding Robert Hur's report, there are established conventions of how legal briefs are supposed to be put together, and he violated those. It would be like sticking in something in Trump's indictments like "oh, and he might have slept with his daughter" with no evidence. That kind of thing is gratuitous and has no place in a legal document based on actual evidence.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Lila15 Ah, so you are now an expert in contract law and the construction business, eh?
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@sunsporter1649 I know more than you do. You probably don't even know that residential and commercial property is taxed and valued differently. Mar-a-Lago would be worth more if it had a bunch of high-rises on it than as a golf course. But it's fraud if you value it as if it has high rises on it when it not only doesn't, but can't due to zoning.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Lila15 Trump National Golf Course in Palm Beach is located 5 miles as the crow flies from Mar-A-Largo.

Lila15 · 22-25, F
@sunsporter1649 Good. That wil make it easier for the government to seize it after Trump loses his next case.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Lila15

Are you an expert in construction practices to tell me different ?
Due process ?
WTF are you babbling about ?

Oh never mind I'm done
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@pdockal I still know more than you. You aren't even aware that residential and commercial properties are valued differently. This isn't even about construction, it's about property values. The fact that you think this judgment is about "construction" shows that you're in over your head in this conversation.

"Due process" means you get to argue your case in court, as opposed to the Gestapo showing up and hauling you away, which is what you people want.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Lila15 Let me get this straight. Somebody borrows $150,000,000. puts up property as collateral valued at between $500,000,000 and $1,500,000,000, pays back the loan on time, with interest, and gets fined $355,000,000 for living up to their obligations. Is that about it?
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@sunsporter1649 Yes, because they valued the property inaccurately and wouldn't have gotten the loan if they'd valued it correctly. Although, being from Florida, land of the NINJA loans, I wouldn't expect you to understand this.

"No income? No job? No problem! Here's your loan!"
