Great line in last night's Senate Debate in California

Steve Garvey, the former baseball player, kept bobbing, weaving, and ducking every question. Finally Congresswoman Porter said, "As they say here in Southern California, once a Dodger, always a dodger".

I need to go watch that. That's a baby fawn in a lion's cage. Porter is no joke. She's smart and tough. So are Schiff and Lee. Garvey is a twisted dude driven by ego. Always has been and always will be.

@Ynotisay I would say a baby fawn with the headlights in his eyes, except he rarely lifted his head enough for the headlights to be in his eyes. The body language was even more excruciating than the constant returning to the memorized talking point about "I know about building teams and competing" no matter the question.

@dancingtongue He's got a laundry list of messed up behavior. Cheating, kids out of wedlock, huge financial problems and more. Pure ego. He has ZERO chance. Any of those three excellent politicians would destroy him. He's not doing this to win.

they used to say that in Brooklyn

Name recognition will get Garvey votes, in spite of his lack of policy and understanding governing.

He has an R by his name....just as Hershel Walker did in GA.

Hopefully Garvey receives the same results Walker got.
@JSul3 There aren’t enough Republicans in CA to elect him.

I'm sorry but when have you ever heard a politician answer a straight question? Ever listen to a White House press conference???
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@GerOttman At least they knew enough about the question and the process to dance around it. Garvey was way out of his element and didn't look like he ever had any media coaching whatsoever. The latter actually can be a plus if you are a straight shooter and have a position, but if you are just trying to avoid answering and don't know how to do it. . .
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@dancingtongue well in any event, it won't really matter. I think there are less than 750 republicans left in California at last count.

Except when you're a Padre.
