South Africa "genocide" claims

From what I have read so far, South Africa outlined their case in a professional way. It doesn't simply accuse Israel of "genocide" but argues that there have been statements made by Israeli politicians that incite/imply genocidal intent, and evidence on the ground that suggests that some IDF soldiers and commanders have taken action towards that extent. They did condemn the Oct 7th attacks on multiple occasions, stated their claim is against the administration of Israel and not against Jewish people, and reiterated that they cannot charge Hamas with the same because Hamas is not a country who signed the Geneva Treaty and therefore out of the jurisdiction of the court. The legal jurisdiction for this hearing is that both South Africa and Israel signed an anti-genocide treaty and that Israel is breaking the terms of that treaty. I saw nowhere that they made antisemitic statements, fabricated evidence, were disrespectful, or denied the legitimacy of Israel.

Israel's response? Well that is tomorrow, but in the meantime it sounds like their response is ad-hominin attacks, insinuations, name calling, and lies. Sounds just like Trump lawyers. Or Saddam Hussein's. If you want to win in court, or in the court of public opinion, you have to at the very least have respect for the process.

I'd like to hear others' take on this, but I found this article very interesting and not behind a pay-wall:

And here is south Africa's petition:
