Interesting question. Since the democrats have clearly shown they are the party of open borders, fentanyl overdoes, cashless bail, racist policies and high taxes, I'd vote for my dog over any democrat. So IF Trump is not on the ballot, I'd vote for the Republican who comes closest to his policies.
My dog would have to be a write in and why waste a vote?

@joe438 It’s who counts the votes not who gets the most votes. I can tell you if another Republican was the nominee, Trump as a write it would cause another democrat presidency. I hate to say that, but it’s what I believe.
I recall Ross Perot and that debacle. I voted for Perot. He was right on just about everything. But he pulled enough votes away from Bush Sr to give us Bill Clinton. Not a Bush fan, but in comparison I’d have preferred him over Clinton.
I hope Trump isn’t removed. If he’s the nominee I’m voting for him. Let’s stay with that.

@IM5688 I did vote for him. But my vote was wasted. Lesson learned. I should have sucked it up and vote for who had the best chance of winning who wasn’t a lib. I hate doing that for numerous reasons. Some shared in this thread already. But by doing so we wound up with Clinton.
I’d never forgive myself if I helped elect a democrat in this election. It’s critically important to our survival as a nation.

@carpediem You are correct in that if it were a choice between her and Biden,Id pick her.Id vote for a metal chair over Biden. But if you're talking about write-in candidates, why not go with Ron Desantis? In a perfect world,he'd be my choice for candidate over anybody-yes,even Trump.

@DavidT8899 Because you'd split the conservative vote between DeSantis and someone else against the liberal. Been there, done that. As I mentioned, there can't be another left wing clown at 1600 for another 4 years. So eventually, whomever the Republican nominee is needs to be supported by 100% of Republicans or we'll wind up with the same crap we have now.

@carpediem Id agree with that .Now if there was only some way to counteract the cheating that you KNOW is going to occur.
