What are these so called 'shared values' that the US and Israel are supposed to have ?

BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
Their sense of entitlement, and the fact that they both repeatedly committed war crimes in the Middle East.
GlitterEater · 36-40, F
Both countries are into genocide of the native population

The Gaza Strip situation bodes badly for world stability.

It's a solid point. The one that jumps out at me is a fair percentage of the citizenry that is sold, and swallows, persecution and hate for "the other."

Judaism is christisnitys grand father. Our common values are similar in that way. However wirhout definite examples the implication of stopping terrorism as a mutual goal ignores that both Israel and America comitted terrorists acts for many decades. So is it even a value? let alone common?

@basilfawlty89 yes they are siblings a common ancestor. So what are they arguing about? Idk do u?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@jehova it's not about religion as such. It's nationalism, man. Nationalism is the cause of much bloodshed in the world.
jehova · 31-35, M
@basilfawlty89 ok so its about ones national identity. Thats no surprise. That the bloodshed continues motivated by dispute over the location of a line that only exist on a cartographic is rediculous they were all one tribe one family unit to start off. You step over the line of tape in the middle of the bedroom. Get back on your side or ill throw stuff. If you keep throwing stuff ill call mom on you (dials USA) damn pal stop terrorizing your sisters sundries. Sreal screams moahom pal is touching me.
Stop touching me! USA! USA! Save me save me.
Pal I'm not touching you. Not touching you.
Does this sound about right?
I'm just trying to identify the reason for the fighting so the cause can be addressed. Ive never fiund a complete answer. It might boil down to who threw the first. . . Too long ago to know definitely. I'd be able to tell you.

They both have a sense of Manifest Destiny and have treated people living on "their" land as hostiles.
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
For one thing, the U.S. and Israel have a mutual defense treaty.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@badminton this is not a shared 'value'.
A long history of occupations and war crimes.
Human dignity and liberty.
@RodionRomanovitch We're talking about principles here. These are the supposed shared values. Every nation has been late in spreading its ideals to every part of its population.

@EarthlingWise 'the supposed shared values'

How do you think liberal Jews in the US (the majority) feel about the complete lack of moral principles that the government in Israel now takes pride in ?
@RodionRomanovitch They will feel like populism has been encouraged everywhere, including in the Jewish state. Populism is all about bragging and hardly cares about moral values.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
