Biden impeachment inquiry

It’s about dang time they open up impeachment into Joe Biden. The business dealings is worth investigating and Holding Biden accountable. Will he be removed no but he will be held accountable for his wrongdoing.

Republicans LOVE tit for tat retribution even though they are only armed with smoke and mirrors.

@Slade Still waiting for valid proof 🦗

Kind of like "Russia, Russia, Russia"?

@Slade stubborn deflection doesn’t count as a valid answer
@BohemianBoo They will argue that Pence did have the authority to reject the state certificates, which is why they changed the law to prevent Harris from doing it.
@LeopoldBloom Oh yeah, I forgot that lie. With all of the trumpian lies, it's hard to remember them all.

It is an impeachment inquiry, not an impeachment. The Republican committees in the House have been scouring the earth since they took office in January and have come up with nothing on Joe Biden. But Trump has asked them to begin an impeachment inquiry into Biden, and his dutiful Cult has begun the process. Shameful.

@Dad34 Interesting how all of the witnesses the Republicans keep calling say there’s nothing there.
They were investigated by Bill Barr's DOJ when Trump was in office, and they found nothing. Since then, Hunter's business partner has testified that Hunter sold the "illusion" of access, and when Joe was on phone calls with people Hunter was dealing with, they did not discuss business and often Joe was not even told who was on the phone.

This is just Trump pushing the Freedumb Caca which is pressuring McCarthy to do this or face losing the speakership. So McCarthy is launching an impeachment "inquiry" because he doesn't have the votes for an actual impeachment. And even if he did, it would be certain to fail in the Senate.

This kind of performative drama is loads of fun for you people but will have no more effect than the Trump impeachments. And for the record, those turned out to have been total wastes of time. If you want Biden out of office, vote for his opponent next year.

Here's what happens:

1. If they get credible tips alleging wrong doing, in the form of high crimes and misdemeanors (the Constitutional threshold), Congress can open up an investigation.

2. If the investigation finds proof that said offenses were committed, an impeachment inquiry is started, and the case is made to the House.

But back to your comment:
he business dealings is worth investigating and Holding Biden accountable.
That's step #1, not step #2. Would you like to re-read the Constitution? Even McCarthy was not willing to go that route, until they held a gun to his head.

But it's not like you're not in good company, with MAGAs who don't understand the Constitution.

I can think of another reason why the Republicans finally brought it to the table:

And they’re playing the hand that they’ve been dealt ‘til the end:

A yes, the business dealings of a private citizen that goes back years and the GOP fishing expedition still has found zero ties to the actual president.

Evidence is kind of required for a trial. And you can't impeach someone for something a random family member has done even if it is illegal.

Maybe look into Trump and Jared Kutchner who actually worked in a formal capacity in the white house and those really really suspect deals with the Saudis.

sent to Biden family members, Hunter's 2015 taxes - let the statue of limitations pass,
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Experienced33 Great. When Hunter runs for President, you'll be all set.

@Experienced33

'Statue' of limitations, I like that. Gonna use that.
Slade · 56-60, M
@PatKirby have to be a small statue since it's limited 😆
All roads lead to Barry.
Just how far will they let them investigate, and how many more big names pop up before they shut it down and use the 25th on his ass..

Kabuki Theatre.
McCarthy only doing it because they were gunna take the gavel off him

Republiwimps are already retreating from impeachment. Still thinking they can "break bread with our friends across the aisle." Clueless.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
I wouldn't waste my time on it since it's all set up for Harris to take Oval Office position

@FreestyleArt
A distinct possibility.

The impeachment process will move so slowly he will be out of office before his trial begins, so it will all be swept under the rug and forgotten. I wish they would move quicker but I doubt it will happen
@LeopoldBloom I agree with you on all of it except I am not so sure Trump is that actively involved. Plenty of other fascists have come out of the woodwork and are quite capable of attempting a political persecution without the orange idiot giving directions. Trump did bring this about by proving there are not political costs int he GOP for being an open fascist anymore though.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow He's been nagging some Freedumb Caca members.

@LeopoldBloom That doesn't mean much.

Many of the so called Freedumb clowns and those who just share the same far right ideology but are not formally affiliated have already figured out he is a liability and are moving away from him. That doesn't mean DeSantis for example is any less of a fascist wannabe dictator.
RedBaron · M
Not any more than Trump was held accountable while he was in office.
