Are you woke or dumb?

Woke is a term used to describe a person who is alert to the racial and social injustice in the world.

For example, black George Floyd died in the course of being arrested by a white police officer and his backup officers. Woke outrage led to convictions for the cops, and George's family was awarded $27 million compensation.

I am dumb. I couldn't and still cannot wrap my mind around woke justice. Are you dumb?

You still going on about George Floyd? 😂

Edit: I STARTED A WAR 😂
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@TrashCat He's waging a one-man war against anybody who dares exercise any kind of empathy without being a Bible thumping Jesus freak.

Oh, but then when you call him on his shit, he totally backpedals and says he knows Jesus was a fictional character.

The only thing he thinks he knows for certain is that racism doesn't actually exist.
@TrashCat They'll never forgive him for getting murdered publicly.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@BohemianBoo Hey, so real quick. When a black man is brutally murdered by a white police officer while his coworkers literally stand there doing nothing to stop him, and half the country claims the white police officer didn't do anything wrong because all black people are basically thugs, what would you call that? Like, that's a particular type of racism. What would we call that? Hmmm?

Starts with an S...
@LordShadowfire First of all, most Americans agreed that the cops were totally in the wrong. Way more than half. Secondly, a lot of people side with the cops no matter what. It's disgusting that someone would blindly side with the cop, even when we have video proof of what happened, but that's not necessarily racism.

@BohemianBoo You said: "First of all, most Americans agreed that the cops were totally in the wrong."

I don't agree that cops are ever totally wrong. I live in a village and the cops here are mostly white. I feel safe and protected whenever I see a police car; especially, when it is going thru my back alley at 3 am in the morning. It is not the crime. There is no crime to talk about. It's the high property taxes that pay for the police vigilance. Three blocks away is the most dangerous community area of any American city. Gang violence: 3 to 5 fatalities and 30 to 40 wounded by gunfire every weekend. Even kids as young as 3 get shot through the wall of their houses. I wish woke people stop venting their outrage on white cops like Chauvin.

I agree that those five black cops fatally beating a black man in Memphis were totally wrong. The poor black guy didn't resist arrest or had a criminal record like George Floyd, who was jailed multiple times, did.

Well then, maybe I'm spending too much time on Similar Worlds, and not enough time talking to real people.

It is when your disciplinary record contains 18 counts of excessive force from 18 different incidents, only two of which led to disciplinary measures, and most of which were against minorities.

Yeah? Who are those white cops protecting your white ass from?

I wish woke people stop venting their outrage on white cops like Chauvin.
You mean violent pigs who regularly use excessive force and almost never face any disciplinary action for their bullshit? Yeah, not going to happen.
@sree251

I said most Americans, not literally every single person. Yes, there are some boot-lickers like you who sided with the cops when they murdered George Floyd. You're in the minority.

This is why you have to go by data, not personal experience.

"74% Of Americans Support George Floyd Protests, Majority Disapprove Of Trump’s Handling, Poll Says"

@BohemianBoo The fact that 74% of Americans polled had the self-awareness not to publicly take the side of a brutal pig with a history of using violence to affect arrests doesn't necessarily reflect public opinion. Glad to see the polls seem to reflect a less psychopathic point of view than Trump espouses, though.
@LordShadowfire Well that's why polling is usually done as anonymously as possible. It is a problem with any kind of surveying, the possibility that people will be afraid to answering honestly. But there have been a few studies on the George Floyd case and they all show that at least most people think he was unfairly killed.

@LordShadowfire You said: "Yeah? Who are those white cops protecting your white ass from?"

I guess the white cops were protecting me from folks like George Floyd. One time, while I was on my computer on my front porch, a gaudily suited George Floyd type came knocking on my neighbor's front door. I was bemused. (My neighbor is a shit hot professor who spends more time abroad on consulting assignments than teaching at his university here in the city.) The next moment, a police cruiser pulled up in front of my house. Next moment, another police cruiser arrived followed by another, and another. I counted a total of six police cars on the street. What the heck?! By this time, George Floyd was answering questions asked by a police officer with a backup by his side. I couldn't hear what they were saying and watched. The next thing I saw was that George was getting frisked. He emptied his pockets and handed stuff to the cop. One of the officers came up my front porch and asked, "Excuse me, sir. Is there a Masin living next door?" I said, "Yeah, that would be my neighbor's kid." I asked him, " What's happening, officer?" He replied, "We are trying to find out. Someone here on your street called us to check him out."

After he was frisked, the police let George go. One by one, the police cruiser took off. It didn't take me long to figure out why George Floyd was knocking on my neighbor's door. Masin is a high school stud, long hair, real cool and handsome (so he thought), and often go around shirtless. Call me a bigot, I thought it was drugs that drew George to Masin.

What do you mean, folks like George Floyd? Do you mean folks who maybe have a problem with drugs, and occasionally make the mistake of trying to pass off a fake $20 bill? Folks who maybe have a history of domestic violence they're trying to move past? No, I don't think that's what you mean, is it? I think you mean folks the same color as George Floyd, don't you?

Your little story reflects exactly why black people don't trust the police. A black man can't even walk into a white neighborhood and knock on somebody's door without half a dozen police cruisers coming up on him. And that's the world you want to live in.

@BohemianBoo they did not poll anyone I know or know of. So their statistics and poll is null and void. They only polled a select few! Like woke people and his family.
@specman Polls don't involve literally everyone in the world.
The truth is, you literal Nazis are in the minority in America.

LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@sree251 Okay, so just to be clear, you're a racist piece of shit. Have a great day.
specman · 51-55, M
@BohemianBoo they poll who they choose
@specman The people were randomly selected.
Also, Nazis generally voted for Trump and he lost the popular vote both times. So see, you're the minority.
specman · 51-55, M
@BohemianBoo yeah random leftists and a few normal people
@sree251 i was blocked

@DIABLISS Drugs?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@sree251 Wasn't me. I don't even block racist asshats who literally admit they want to live in gated white communities with police who protect the white status quo, and then claim out of the other side of their mouths that there's no such thing as racism.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@LordShadowfire I know it wasn't you. You have a no holds barred style of verbal combat. I like that. We live in a country where the First Amendment protecting freedom is celebrated; and yet, it is infested by woke people against hate and cancelling people even for improper use of English.

I have to say that this SW site is the best I have ever been to. No moderation! I wonder who owns this site. I have half the mind to buy it. This site is below the radar and probably not as potent as X (aka Twitter); otherwise, the ADL and other woke organizations would be raising hell demanding blood.

I have to say, even though I strongly disagree with most of what you have to say, I appreciate that. Most folks, even the ones who claim to be all about preserving free speech, would have blocked me by now, thus proving their hypocrisy. Actually, most of them have, lol. People who are even more obsessed with hating on so-called woke culture than you. People who are even more obsessed with hating on so-called woke culture than you.
