Are you woke or dumb?

Woke is a term used to describe a person who is alert to the racial and social injustice in the world.

For example, black George Floyd died in the course of being arrested by a white police officer and his backup officers. Woke outrage led to convictions for the cops, and George's family was awarded $27 million compensation.

I am dumb. I couldn't and still cannot wrap my mind around woke justice. Are you dumb?

This has little to do with being "woke" though.

Person gets caught by the police and dies in custody because the cops (a public servant) murdered him. In court the family was awarded $27 milion for the injustice and the loss of their family member. What price do you put on a life?

@Kwek00 You asked: "What price do you put on a life?"

It depends to whom you are asking the question. Here in America, it is priceless. It doesn't mean beyond any price. It means no price as in no value.

@sree251 So 27 million is actually peanuts then...
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Kwek00 Oh no. The US$27 million dollars in exchange for Floyd's life was a swindle of public funds, an extortion by the woke.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@sree251 How does that make any sense?
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Kwek00 It doesn't. Not to the dumb. It only makes sense to the woke.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@sree251 You just said that a life is priceless.

But a life got lost... and the family got 27 million compensation... for the loss of life and the injustice done.
And that's a swindle?
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Kwek00 By "priceless", I took the literal meaning of no price and not the accepted meaning of beyond any price.

Look, blacks like Floyd get shot and killed every weekend in our cities. Even babies get shot by stray bullets in gang violence. Do we care? Such violence has been going on forever and now has been accepted as a way of life. All of a sudden, a black man died beneath a white man's knee and the whole woke world exploded crying for blood. It was a shake down and we paid $27 million. It was extortion.

@sree251 woke people acknowledge systemic racism and do what they can to fight it
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Kwek00 The police did not murder anyone that day. If you are 223 pounds and 6' 4" and resist arrest, I would not only kneel on your neck, but have my backup officers pile on top of you as well the way we do a football tackle. It could break your neck. And you would be the one asking for it.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Guitarman123 woke people should acknowledge their own messed up lives.

@sree251 acknowledging the exiatence of racism is important as a way to fight against it
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@sree251 you'd still be a murderer, even if you claimed he "asked for it"
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Kwek00 The courts were wrong. Reality is in the eyes of the beholder. In the Floyd case, the judge, jury, prosecutor, and doctors were all intimidated by threats of violence. I don't blame them for cowardice. If I were a juror, I would be afraid to be the only dissenting vote of "not guilty". I would have voted "guilty" even if it was not my finding.
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@sree251 and reality is that theirs clear video evidence of how floyd died
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Guitarman123 Cowardice.

@sree251 blatant murder committed by a racist cop
