I compare it to the “poor dog beaten daily in a trailer park but won’t leave because he or she might get fed “ syndrome. There are a number of reasons for this, one often overlooked is the sometimes subtle and sometimes very blatant brainwashing by employers, particularly large corporations with a lot to hide. They push their employees to vote for the GOP and threaten retaliation if they don’t which often include write-ups, being overlooked for promotions, etc., but not linking anything on paper to the political harassment they are using on the employee. Some can see through this but many cannot, so they vote for GOP like robots.
