Should churches be tax exempt

Given how much they influnce politics sometimes directly espacially evangelical right wing churches with their grip on the GOP.

Hell no. That just gives them special status. I understand the founders wanted the separation of church and state to not have religious and secular funds crossing lines. But all it does is allow churches to become for profit (and greedy) organizations. All that wealth accumulation was already done in the middle ages. And it did nothing but give them overwhelming power of the purse. And with that power, corruption. The effects of which ended up scarring the planet as Christians have overwhelming power all over the world even today. So tax them according to their income level. Just like the poor have to do.
