Arguably the most inconvenient historical figure for liberals who push identity politics today.

Is anybody out there claiming we currently live in color blind society? Show of hands?? OK then, is pretending to be color blind the best way to fix things???

Black men who commit the same crimes as white men receive federal prison sentences that are, on average, nearly 20 percent longer, according to a new report on sentencing disparities from the United States Sentencing Commission (USSC).

@ElwoodBlues So continue being a racist who sees nothing but color? I’m all for pointing out flaws in the justice system, and there’s a lot of work to be done, but sticking with divisive, racist, left wing identity politics will not solve any of the issues that exist today. Improving inner city schools, creating a positive sense of community, and promoting the family unit is a start. There are so many underlying issues when it comes to these issues, and I’d argue that many of them stem from corrupt inner city democrat leaders that willfully turn their backs on black communities. People must unify and treat each other as individuals before any meaningful progress can be made. We must unite as Americans. That’s probably a pipe dream though considering many on the left have grown to despise the flag and what it stands for.
@ToastyPickles
divisive, racist, left wing identity politics
Your divisive labels don't fit the reality in any way shape or form.
I’d argue that many of them stem from corrupt inner city democrat leaders
Of course you would. Tell us, is blaming the victim your speciality??
We must unite as Americans.
So you lead off with name-calling??? Great way to extend the olive branch 😂🤣
@ElwoodBlues They certainly do. Identity politics is the act of seeing color and judging people by it. That is in itself racist. The fact that you seem to be defending it is quite telling.

Are you claiming inner city democrat leaders are somehow victims then? Surrounded by armed guards in their gated communities? What planet are you living on? The black communities that they neglect are the victims.

What about uniting and building a community around individualism is so offensive and problematic for you? Why are you so dead set on seeing color and so uninterested in actual solutions?
@ToastyPickles
Identity politics is the act of seeing color and judging people by it.
That's not what the dictionary says! Do you always make up your own definitions??
a tendency for people of a particular religion, ethnic group, social background, etc., to form exclusive political alliances,
kinda like the born-again conservatives do, right?
Surrounded by armed guards in their gated communities?
What color is the sky on your planet? How many "inner city democrat leaders" can you name that live in gated communities?? Let's start with members of the House of Representatives who represent inner city communities. Go ahead, name all the ones who live in gated communities. Take your time, be accurate.
What about uniting and building a community around individualism
You just made a bunch of sweeping generalizations that are stunningly inaccurate and suddenly you're against generalizations???
[big]!!! ROTFL !!![/big]
@ElwoodBlues Hmm okay then.. how is it defined in your dictionary? And again, how has it improved race relations in this country since it’s conception?

Please explain how identity politics is in any way similar to MLKs beliefs.

The fact that you’re really defending the elitist ruling class is hysterical. You can’t possibly be daft enough to think that they live like everybody else.

Former Mayor Lori Lighfoot lives in Logan Square, an affluent neighborhood in Chicago. She made over 200k/year as MAYOR.

New York Mayor, Eric Adams, has a net worth of 9 million dollars and him and his family live in Gracie Mansion.

I can go on. It’s a common trend with the ruling class on both sides of the political spectrum that you seem to love so much.

You’re posting nonsense, and you haven’t addressed my questions. What are your solutions?

I’m sensing that you’re just a dug in partisan that’s unable to think critically about your parties regressive ideologies.
@ToastyPickles
Hmm okay then.. how is it defined in your dictionary?
I cut and pasted it once; I guess you skipped right over it, LOL!!! Here it is again:
a tendency for people of a particular religion, ethnic group, social background, etc., to form exclusive political alliances,
and i added the comment "kinda like the born-again conservatives do, right?"
Please explain how identity politics is in any way similar to MLKs beliefs.
I never made that claim; that's your strawman. I challenged your definition of identity politics; see above, the definition of identity politics. Never mind, I'll cut and paste it yet again!
a tendency for people of a particular religion, ethnic group, social background, etc., to form exclusive political alliances,

The fact that you’re really defending the elitist ruling class is hysterical.
Another strawman from you;! Straw men and false definitions seems to be your specialty! Is that all part of your plan to "unite as Americans"?? I'm challenging your strawmen and wrong definitions that form the premise for your claims.
Former Mayor Lori Lighfoot lives in Logan Square, an affluent neighborhood in Chicago.
And is that a gated community? Oh, wait, that was just rhetorical excess, AKA falsehood😂🤣

Eric Adams is the mayor of ALL New Yorkers (avg household income NYC: $67,000) so he hardly meets any criteria for "inner city leader."
Gracie Mansion is the home provided to all mayors during their term by the city of New York. Is it part of a "gated community"? Of course not!! That was just rhetorical excess, AKA falsehood😂🤣
I can go on.
You have yet to place a single "inner city leader" in a single "gated community." Just go ahead and admit your strawman is false and move on.
you haven’t addressed my questions.
Your questions are based on false premises, strawmen and wrong definitions. I'm identifying all the errors at the root of your questions.

@ElwoodBlues In states that have the death penalty blacks are more likely to be executed too.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Since 1973, at least 190 people have been exonerated from death row in the U.S., according to the Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC). 75% were black and Latino.

@ElwoodBlues I understand some of his arguments with regards to the elites, bc in a lot of situations, some of these center left people who vote Democrat have more in common with the conservatives than other people on the left. Common example would be California and how they value their property value more than the affordable housing they pretend to care about.

Unfortunately, the OP doesn't present these valid criticisms in an intellectually honest way. Lots of patience on your end.

@deadgerbil First the market is run by demand. Secondly, keep in mind that California is very red along the rural areas.
