Take Brexit for example, I have close friends in Scotland whose family has been farming the same land in Gretna for generations, they told me that when the United Kingdom joined the EU in the early 70's the majority of the populace rejected it but that Parliament voted to join anyways, for trade agreement purposes. The first thing Brussells did was start dictating that the best crops, livestock, and fishing, were to be shared with all the other members, with France, West Germany, and Italy, getting the top picks since they were considered the top dogs. The EU is not truly democratically run, it's a dictatorship run by the World Economic Forum, a group that is trying to get its hooks into the United States via George Soros and Klaus Schwab. @NativePortlander1970 The UK joined the EC in 1972 without a referendum. A popular vote in 1975 ratified continued membership of the EC with 67.2% of the popular vote and the UK remained a member. A referendum in 2016 resulted in 51.9% in favour of leaving, which the UK subsequently did. A large majority of the Scotland electorate was in favour of remaining, but their opinion was subsumed in the wider UK vote which could be considered somewhat undemocratic.
