The people and political preferences.

Truth be known, no political party has the people's best interests at heart. When it comes to general elections/local elections etc. They just try to paint a pretty picture just to get your vote. Don't be fooled. ALL politicians are corrupt, some may have some more favourable policies and ideas, but when it boils down to it, most are in it for their own gains.

So don't get hung up on one party, thinking they're going to make a difference or change things for the good.
It won't, they won't. An interest in politics is one thing, an obsessive outlook (posting about it continually) is boring and unhealthy.

The reality is.....
The most vulnerable within society are at the bottom of their priorities.
Minority groups, aren't a priority either.
The wealthy/Elite are what matters to the government.

Money is what motivates them.

The rest of us have to sit and watch, while those with power destroy the world.
Michael Jackson - They Don't Care About Us says a lot and some other songs. Especially in this day and age.

Of course the governments and also celebs and royal families (who are German) do not give a shit about you, me or anyone that is human..

They want us to be like robots..thinking and doing the same thing. To have No emotions and or feelings..not caring about others!.

They get involved with The World Economic Forum (WEF) which is NOT a small talking club. They are actually trying to take over the world and make us the people be their slaves and so on. Makimg decisions for us when WE DID NOT EVEN CHOOSE THEM. And if you think what they where preaching in 2020, 2021 and even last year is gone..well think again, in The Netherlands (Holland) I heard that they want to or have made a new law. Guess what THAT Is!.

I am for NO ONE, not left or right but I see things and hear things so I think for myself and say and do what I want and not just coz it is told of me by people that might have no idea what they are on about. I do my own research before just blindly believing what is told..

Some people are quick to say that I am for "the right or even Far right" at that oh and that I am a "conspiracy theorist" lol plus that I spread "misinformation" but all that is coz they heard it from the so called "news" and governments.

The Left and Right is not that different and getting MONEY and backing from the same people but when some go against the narrative/agendas being preached, they are made to look like the bad one..

And they are being used as they are puppets and clowns at the end of the day..they came from other "jobs" e.g acting, food or wherever and when they mess up and people stand up they just get a new job just like that and mess that up aswell to fuck with the people.
I'm almost 100% in agreement with you up until the last sentence.

I don't think, however, that we have to just sit, even if we can't see or maybe don't even really want dramatic overnight change.

There's no doubts that governments are controlled by elites and counter elites, and that manipulating the masses is part of that process.

But, at the same time, we've come a long way with literacy and education, and even though Democracy or democratically styled governments may still be somewhat experimental, the experiments have not all failed yet, and bread and circuses have gotten much more complicated.

Granted, I'm not looking for radical revolution with all its costs, but I think that we can participate and use what little power we have to help nudge things ever so slightly in the direction we want.

Just my two cents.

@Lanie78 so it’s our fault for being old? Way more in my age group are as liberal as they come , even more so because of the things we’ve experienced.
Lanie78 · 41-45, F
@BackyardShaman In the UK they aren't. I live in a very conservative area. People tend to be stuck in their ways here unfortunately.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
@Lanie78 I apologize Lanie, after I made my impulsive comment I then realized you are in the UK.
Graylight · 51-55, F
Yup. Certainly since the dawn of this nation. The ink wasn't dry on the Constitution before the founding father began pursuing their own interests in government and power.

So we know this to be true. What's your solution? If this isn't the way things are supposed to work, what are you helping to do to change it? Don't say nothing will work, because politics as an invention and tool of, for and by the citizens. Hard to complain we're careening out of control but refuse to take the wheel.
Lanie78 · 41-45, F
@Graylight The answer could possibly be a coalition. Though unlikely that would happen. I personally think the people will soon take matters into their own hands. The cost of living crisis is taking its toll on the people. Too many people are living below the bread line. The government is doing very little to rectify this.... their priorities lie elsewhere.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Lanie78 I would agree with you on that. People - and good, normally upstanding, rule-abiding people - are being asked too much and obedience to the legislation of mad men isn't something easily forced.

If the conservatives and those who would hold back the progress of this country and the welfare of the people within want a revolution, they can be handily given one. I am done bowing to fascists and children.

I'm going to disagree - but just a little

I'm going to say that some of them might just have good intentions but they either get their eyes opened and quit

or they go along to get along until they become absorbed

"power corrupts - absolutel power corrupts absolutely"
Lanie78 · 41-45, F
@Pretzel Yes possibly. Probably bought into the corrupt way of thinking 🤔
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@Lanie78 I think that in the US the Congressmen get to keep the money in their reelection accounts - "money for nothin'"

they way the US system was originally SUPPOSED to work was the gentlemen farmers were supposed to go for a term or two and then go home forever.

the first president refused to run for a third term and set the standard for decades. (then it became a law that you could only have two terms)

no such limitation for the congress or senate though
Lanie78 · 41-45, F
@Pretzel The UK is the same in the fact the politicians are paid shit loads of money for doing fuck all really. £83 K a year plus expenses and they usually have second jobs to. It's disgusting when many are literally scraping pennies together to buy a loaf of bread 😡
maskedbandit · 61-69, M
You paint a pretty picture and I like that. If you want help, you first have to help yourself. Then we can unite, something that frightens the government. 😂 👍 🙂
All true
@blokeinpub They don’t have to love me personally. Following the Constitution and rule of law would be a start.

[c=1F5E00]Well spoken post. [/c]
No kidding! That's what it means to be against socialism.
You don't have choices like humans. You don't have socialism. Lol! Boy is fascism tough! And boy do the ones who choose it deserve this.
