Is Trump a christian

What makes him christian in terms of personality anf behaviour
windinhishair · 61-69, M
He clearly is not a Christian. His actions have never been those of a Christian who loves his fellow man. Trump loves himself. Period. End of story.

Please. Trump doesn’t know what he is because he draws his identity from the world.
Under that umbrella, he switched his declared faith as Presbyterian to non-denominational Christian while in office. Trump stated in a 2020 interview that he doesn’t consider himself to be Presbyterian.

“I now consider myself to be a non-denominational Christian,” Trump said. “Melania and I have gotten to visit some amazing churches and meet with great faith leaders from around the world. During the unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak, I tuned into several virtual church services and know that millions of Americans did the same.” Trump was not a regular churchgoer before he was elected president

Since moving to the White House, however, he has visited many different churches, mostly evangelical and Pentecostal. He has met with numerous ministers, been prayed over, and sought the advice of spiritual counselors like White-Cain, a Florida televangelist often associated with the prosperity gospel, who took a position as the Trump administration’s faith outreach coordinator last year. City of Destiny, the church White-Cain founded in Florida, is nondenominational.

Interestingly, the Evangelical groups hold the most religious sway and offer among the largest donations. They seem to allow his infidelities, lies, fraud, emotional immaturity, greed, lust for power and utter lack of any Christian knowledge. So in a sense, Trump has once again sold his soul for power and wealth. So yeah, no: Trump is not a Christian.

Nothing about him is in any way Christian.
Trump started a charity to collect money for kids with cancer, then shifted the money to his own business, the Trump Organization. To be any less Christian, you'd have to be sporting horns and a tail!

@ElwoodBlues I forgot about the Trump kid cancer scam! It is hard to keep up with all the lies, stealing, and grifting.

Of course he isn't. I heard an interesting analysis, though, that for Christians who support him he comes across as a Jesus figure, sacrificing himself for others (because he could just be living a rich comfortable life without bothering to Make America Great Again), and suffering "unjust" accusations and punishments for the sake of everyone else. Since I heard this idea I have been noticing more and more how it does map on to how his followers talk about him and how he talks about himself.

@ServantOfTheGoddess Trump has made this statement many times that he didn't need to run, but was doing it for others, his base, at great personal cost.
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
@windinhishair yes, that's the kind of thing that would resonate deeply with devout Christians (those who are foolish enough to take him at his word...)
Spotpot · 41-45, M
Jesus talks about the hypocrits today they are christians supporting Trump.
calicuz · 51-55, M
First define Christian, and then we'll talk about who is following the faith.
He isn't, look at his choice of "pastors" and is clearly an act to appease voters.
Carla · 61-69, F
I don't know what he is. Christian though, doesn't fit.
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
He's a grifter.
@Peaceandnamaste A Christian grifter?
@Peaceandnamaste He grifts with love. 🤣
Trump exploits Christians for his political gain.
Other than for a photo op Trump hasn't set foot in a Church for no less than a decade
When he was asked what his favorite Bible passage was he couldn't quote one. Remember, this is the guy who told everyone he has "The Best Memory" "A Big Brain"
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Anyone can be a Christian. The most vile creature ever to inhabit the world can repent. That's the entire idea behind it. Saul became Paul remember? Trump, on the other hand, is way beyond any point of redemption as a free man.

{@spotpot] 🤔well likes too give the impression he is a good practicing christian but when you look at the man and his deeds and actions it makes you think precisely the opposite
RedBaron · M
Christianity is a religion, not a personality trait. But why does it matter?
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
😆😆😆

Yeah, no.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
No way.
He just follows the religion.
