Support wholesale immigration - I dare you

[quote]"Under my leadership, we will use all necessary state, local, federal, and military resources to carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history," Trump told the CPAC audience Saturday. "We will pick them up, and we will throw them out of our country, and there will be no questions asked."

We complain about money and financial issues now. What’s another $114 billion (American Progress)? 2/3 of those who’ve stayed illegally did so more than a decade ago. How will all these people be found when we can’t get local guys on warrants? Over 20 years, it’s estimated the cost to the US public would stretch to $500 billion. Of course, it’s much more fiscally responsible not to deport people (Center for Immigration Studies), but why miss a good opportunity at nationalism and racism?

In my opinion "illegal immigration" is a convenient construct to appease those who are opposed to any foreign migrants appearing in their country. It is not illegal to seek the sanctuary and protection of a friendly state. Legal migration generally becomes illegal when the arrangements are not in place for people to obtain the correct paperwork prior to their arrival.

The UK government would rather spend millions on transferring illegal arrivals to Rwanda rather than investing in an immigration service that would speed up the processing of legitimate asylum claims. At the same time our serious shortages of agricultural and care workers, lorry drivers and nurses, is crippling the economy.

The prevailing anti-immigrant sentiment is not just morally compromised, it is economically illiterate.

The US as a nation always does better when we have a robust immigration policy. The racist GOP policies on immigration, like those espoused by Trump, will weaken our great nation further.

Migration is not and has never been the problem. Put in context, the white man arrived on the shores of America (and a lot of other places) and outcompeted the original inhabitants and developed the place so that the original inhabitants wouldnt recognise it. Then got fat, lazy and entitled and started whining about the next wave ov migrants, who did the same thing.. And its always going to be that way..😷

@jshm2 Why the need? Why detrimental effect have we felt with the addition of working, tax-paying unauthorized immigrants? Certainly development, construction and real estate are providing tens of thousands of jobs.

@Graylight Even unauthorized immigrants have always been a net positive on the US economy, and they have a lower crime rate than the rest of the US. I understand people being opposed to illegal immigration on principle, but they shouldn't pretend that immigrants are taking jobs or damaging the economy. Often, it isn't a principled opposition, but a racist one.

Imagine what a great place the states would be ... If the American Indians did the same... Not sure where they'd all go though🤔
Human rights don't matter when the mighty might makes you right.
Americans want control, not rights or safety. Booooom. Control. War is your only destination.
