Was this before, or after, he wrote a letter to FDR explaining how a nuclear bomb could be made?

@SusanInFlorida I’m not defending Truman’s use of the nuclear bomb, but in theory there were potentially some situations where it could have done more good than harm. Einstein’s not a bad guy just because he explained to the president how to make one.
