It’s not just mega churches. Even at smaller churches, there’s so much judgment and nit-picking. You can’t dress like this and you can’t be around certain people (despite the fact that the Lord ate with tax collectors and prostitutes; people who’d hear the word instead of thinking they knew it all). Every move scrutinized: “You’re not a real Christian!” thrown around if you make any mistake. Can’t admit times when you aren’t on fire for God either; or if you’re depressed or suicidal. No, that’s called a lack of faith and dismissed.

I live in the South where this is the norm. Most of the people who attend just use it as a shield of "I can do no wrong because I go to bible study"
