For the Good of the Country, Dems Shouldn't Allow Jordan to Become Speaker.

Let the Republicans cause all sort of self-inflicted wounds upon themselves but if the alternative to McCarthy is Jordan, enough of them should vote "present" to allow McCarthy to win.

BONUS: McCarthy will probably deny committee seats to his enemies. Adam Schiff should demand to keep his coommittee assignments as part of the deal. That will infuriate even more GOP members.

But a weak Speaker McCarthy would be better than coup-plotting traitors like Jordan.

I’d like to think that Jordan or Biggs would accelerate the GOP’s destruction, but I’m not sure they would.

I’m really hoping for them to beat the debacle in 1855 which took 133 ballots to select Nathaniel Banks.

A better option would be for Democrats to make an agreement with six moderate Republicans to install another moderate Republican as speaker. Committee assignments could be part of the deal.

The logical thing for McCarthy to do is make a deal with the Democrats - some committee chairs in exchange for a ton of votes.

McCarthy needs to decisively shut down his nutcase fellow republicans. There's really only one way to do it.

@beckyromero Trump wants Kevin as speaker. BoBo just came out against Trump phoning them to change their vote. The 20 are sticking their heads into the gullotine just to see what's on the other side.
