SCOTUS Orders Trump Tax Records Released

The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the handover of former President Trump’s tax returns to the House Ways and Means Committee.

Last month, Chief Justice John Roberts granted a stay, temporarily blocking the former president from having to turn over his tax records to Democrats on the committee.

Trump and his legal team had filed asking the Supreme Court to block the release of his tax records.

@samueltyler2 according to the NY Times, SCOTUS, in an unsigned response to a request to block the release of his tax records, SCOTUS instructed the Treasury dept to release the records. The house's request to SCOTUS to reverse the Roberts opinion stated that, with a new Congress being seating in January, this Congress can not complete its work if the tax returns are not released now.
