Are there any Trump supporters here who stopped supporting Trump after the Jan6th attempt to overturn the election?

I know there are many who are so mired in political tribalism that they make excuses for this act of terrorism but are there among those who supported Trump who found the actions of the Trump base on Jan 6th to be too much to handle?

i didnt vote for either party in 2016, then in 2020 i only voted trump cause i didn't want Biden that much, i no boubt will pick the candidate that fits my interests in 2024, i have NO loyalty to any shit parties
@DiegoWolfe I've got the opposite story to tell. 2016, I voted for Jill Stein, because I liked what she stood for. Didn't care for Trump's bullshit, and to be completely frank, I couldn't find anything telling me what Hillary's platform was. 2020, I only voted for Biden to keep the orange beast from ruining this country for another 4 years.

@LordShadowfire so in 24 will you vote for Biden again, assuming you cant find a better choice?
@DiegoWolfe I'll vote for anybody who's running against Trump. If that's Biden, so be it. I don't see how you can say Trump is the lesser of two evils.
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@LordShadowfire i looked at it like this, Biden was in the Senate for lets say for lack of better phrasing his entire adult life, he was part of a piece of legislation that i didnt agree with (95 crime bill) then he was VP where even with total approval from like everyone he did nothing good that i could see for fixing the issues of his legislation, then in 2020 When Biden ran for office he paired himself with a running mate who overincarcerated black over other groups for non-violent offences. I say him as a lifetime career politician who was running on a lie.
@DiegoWolfe

So let's say Trump wins the nomination to run for president in 2024.
Let's say that what he promises broadly aligns with your interests.

...would you still be happy to vote for a man who personally attempted to overturn American democracy?
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@Pikachu is there another person who better alligns with my values? also did Biden with the Dem non?
@DiegoWolfe

Well i think that's a secondary consideration.

Hyperbolic illustration: There's a child rapist running for president. He rapes children, sure. But he aligns with my values more than his opponent. I'll vote for him then.

So let's say Trump's platform aligns more with your values. Do you trust a man who attempted to overthrow American democracy when he lost?
Are you willing to back that kind of man?
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@Pikachu honestly after the events of the election, where there was a lot of questions, i dont agree with the Rioters of J6 but i do think there was hinky shit going on, well at least i had questions id like answered, honestly
@DiegoWolfe

Ok.
So would you want to support someone who suspected "hinky shit" and did not pursue legal action but instead exhorted his followers to attempt by force to overturn the results of an American election?
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@Pikachu NO, i said i suspected hinky shit, i dont agree with how Cheese poof handled it
@DiegoWolfe

lol cheese poof.
Well i guess what i'm asking you is if you would vote for Trump in the future if his platform aligns with your values or if he's proven himself too untrustworthy.
Maybe you've already answered this and i'm just not getting it, in which case i apologize.
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@Pikachu no i have not yet answered outright, no i would not vote for the Poof if my values aligned as i dont like his actions, and i never felt he was a good choice for president
@DiegoWolfe

Is it because of his involvement in the events of Jan 6th or would you not have voted for him again regardless?
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@Pikachu if someone not Biden got the Dem vote, or a solid Thrid party person was there, id not have voted trump, then while i thought trump wasnt fucking up too bad first term, the moment he acted as he did on J6 i lost all faith in him, and he is once again not a good candidate
@DiegoWolfe

that's fair
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@Pikachu i mean the economy was on the mend, gas was down, jobs were on the rise, we were out of wars, and things were lookung up, then J6 happened and he showed his brat side and Biden rode the nuke down to vaporize the US
