Every trump cult accusation is a confession

Trump Pushed IRS Investigations Into Political Enemies Like James Comey, Andrew McCabe According to John Kelly

Kelly told the Times in an article published on Sunday that, as the outlet put it, “Trump’s demands were part of a broader pattern of him trying to use the Justice Department and his authority as president against people who had been critical of him, including seeking to revoke the security clearances of former top intelligence officials.”
The Times reported in July that Comey and McCabe were picked, what the IRS claimed was arbitrary, for audits. Comey had his 2017 return audited, while McCabe had his 2019 return audited. Comey learned about his audit in 2019, while McCabe heard of his in 2021.

According to the Times:

Mr. Trump regularly made his demands in response to news reports in which he thought his perceived enemies made him look bad. The president would carry on about having them investigated to the point that Mr. Kelly thought he needed to tell the president that what he wanted was highly problematic, explaining, in sometimes heated conversations, that what Mr. Trump wanted was not just potentially illegal and immoral but also could blow back on him.

@Ryderbike And of course no demonocrat would ever dream of having the irs audit anyone of an opposition party, right?
@sunsporter1649 read the whole thing. John Kelly confirms Trump was trying to use the department of justice to go after his perceived enemies. That’s called weaponizing ,

@JimboSaturn He repeated that again the other day , and it had me thinking ; Does he believe that people use it in a complimentary way about him , or does he realise he's being ridiculed ?

@SatyrService Journalists, especially at the level of the NYT, deserve to be paid. A digital subscription is $1 a week. After a year it's like 4 bucks a week. Pretty much a latte at Starbucks. You'll get WAY more bang for your buck with an NYT subscription.

@SatyrService something else I have noticed ... whereas Google News is only an aggregator, and gives you direct links to news articles on the original content provider's site (e.g., the New York Times), Yahoo News seems to act more like a republisher ... I don't know if they pay the NYT to do so, but they frequently have NYT articles reprinted in full on the Yahoo News site, like syndication. If you know what article you are looking for, you may want to try searching for it on Yahoo News ... or even just Google it, to find it reprinted on some other newspaper's website (again, like syndication), whether another large national newspaper or sometimes even smaller local newspapers. I assume if you're able to read it on another newspaper's site (say, before you've hit your three free articles limit on the secondary site), then most likely that site has paid the NYT a syndication fee.

But in particular if you use Google News, on any given day there are tons of articles from various news sites (you can personalize the selection to your liking), and while some of those sites like Bloomberg may also have their own free article limit, some of those other sites may indirectly reference a story the NYT or WaPo broke, so even if you don't get to read the original article, you'll still get a gist of what is going on in the world that day.
At this point, the only accusation Trump made that didn't turn out to be about him was that Obama was born in Africa.

Oh please the IRS investigation of anyone is a joke its not a law enforcement agency. Its just a political pawn used by government to make decent law abiding individuals criminals. And announcements like this involving a political individual is just a sham

@Ozuye502 You just stated, if you read your own words. The IRS is a joke used by government to make decent law abiding individuals criminals. And that it’s not law enforcement.

The level of brainwashing in you is astonishing and you might be drunk.
@Ozuye502 While in office, President Donald Trump repeatedly told John F. Kelly, his second White House chief of staff, that he wanted a number of his perceived political enemies to be investigated by the IRS, Kelly said.

Kelly, who was chief of staff from July 2017 through the end of 2018, said in response to questions from The New York Times that Trump’s demands were part of a broader pattern of him trying to use the Justice Department and his authority as president against people who had been critical of him, including seeking to revoke the security clearances of former top intelligence officials.
@Ozuye502” broader pattern”

Trump’s demands were part of a broader pattern of him trying to use the Justice Department and his authority as president against people who had been critical of him, including seeking to revoke the security clearances of former top intelligence officials.
