This is the best you guys can do?

“You have people that are teaching — and actually his running mate has said this in the past — that teaching the United States was built on stolen land," DeSantis said. "That is inappropriate for our schools; it's not true.”
Governor and boy who never went to history class, Ron DeSantis.

Fascism requires a lost golden age when everything was perfect, so saying anything negative about how white people settled the country must not be allowed.

@LeopoldBloom Thats not true.I realize that there was NEVER a "golden age where everything was perfect."But I know that whatever sins this country committed was FAR outweighed by the good it did.And heres something else to consider:Americas evils were real enough, but they were NOT specific to the country-they were UNIVERSAL and shared by all nations ofcthe world. The good that it did was pretty much SPECIFIC to the country.Too many these days have it-wrongly-the other way around.
@DavidT8899 So you think the ends justify the means. Does that apply to anything else, or just U.S. history?

Even if you think the sins of the U.S. were universal, why are you opposed to discussing them?
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@LeopoldBloom That is a gross oversimpification.I only mean to point out that the U.S has done more than any nation in world history to make up for its sins. And who ever said that I didnt want to discuss them? But please, spare me the nonsense about how the U.S is a "systemically racist "nation;millions of minorities are desperate to come here every year.
@DavidT8899 I don't know about you, but Governor DeSatan and other Republicans are doing whatever they can to suppress any negative history of the U.S. What are they afraid of? Free speech is only a threat to tyrants.

@LeopoldBloom Im sorry, but dont see how thats happening.I for one belive in being open about the negative aspects of American history, but in the proper context and without downplaying or ignoring the great good that it has done-which I happen to belive as far exceeded the bad.
@DavidT8899 Florida has passed laws prohibiting teachers from discussing slavery or acknowledging the existence of LGBT.

@DavidT8899 It’s not good or bad or highlights or low points. It’s history.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@Graylight I agree. And like all countries, our history has a combination of all of what you described.I,however, belive the good has been far greater than the highlights have outshined the low points.

No one has removed it from the classroom. What they are doing is rewriting history (see DeSantis).@DavidT8899
