Pennsylvania Democrat Officials Mailed Out 240,000 Ballots to Unverified Voters! …UPDATE: Now at 255,000 Unverified Voters!

Ballot counters in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Democrat officials sent out 240,000 ballots to people they could not verify either by their Social Security or Driver’s License numbers.

The ballots should NEVER have been sent out to these voters.

Fifteen Republican State Representatives sent a letter to Acting Secretary of the Commonwealth Leigh Chapman after they discovered that over 240,000 illicit ballots were sent out in the state prior to the 2022 midterm elections.

Deputy Secretary Jonathan Marks testified in September before the Pennsylvania House that counties are responsible to verify the voter ID when a completed ballot arrive to the county. The counties argued that this was nonsense. The ID must be verified before a ballot is even sent out.

I think the dems realize that Fetterman is gonna need some help across the finish line.

If one reads the entire letter from the Republican State Representatives, and the legal back-and-forth on this issue going back to 2018, well before the 2020 election, it is obvious this is a classic pissing contest between state and local authorities over who is going to pay the cost. By not verifying the voting lists before sending out the mail-in ballots the state shifts the costs to the counties because the law still requires the validity of the voter to be verified before counting the ballot, and counting the votes is a county job. Now common sense tells you that the two should get together and reach agreement on the most effective and cost-efficient way to do this and fund the increased tech systems and staffing to get the job done to assure public trust in our electoral processes. But no politician these days is willing to embrace increased costs that might require increased tax revenue to pay for it, so much easier to begin spinning conspiracy theories and pointing fingers at each other.

@dancingtongue Kansas requires that the applicant DL number or SS number. If that's not legit the applicant can be charged with voter fraud. The county still has to validate.

Practically every state law incurs a cost for those who have to follow it. I can't operate my cars at night without the proper lighting. The state doesn't pay for replacement light bulbs.

A county doesn't have the option to ignore or violate a state law because because of who pays for complying. This one where the county officials who OK's sending out ballots to unverified applicants should be arrested.

And a cost for those having to enforce it. As I read it, the issue is who pays for the computer systems and the staff to verify that the DL number or SS number provided by the ballot applicant/voter is legit.
