I love electric cars, but they are 30 years into the future!

Where does electricity come from? Coal? How are liberals this stupid?

"How much lithium ore does it take to make a car battery?
For instance, to manufacture each EV auto battery, you must process 25,000 pounds of brine for the lithium, 30,000 pounds of ore for the cobalt, 5,000 pounds of ore for the nickel, and 25,000 pounds of ore for copper. All told, you dig up 500,000 pounds of the earth's crust for just one battery."

Why are liberals this stupid? We need nuclear power. Wind and solar are a joke.

Brilliant post.

They’re battery cars..

And after the fossil fuel industry is dead and we’re on solar wind and rolling blackouts.
Just what do these green thumb psychopaths think power co$ts will be?

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout

I have a two year degree in electricity, and my brother has a thriving business as an electrical engineer.

AOC has a really nice rack, but she's as dumb as a fence post.

We ain't ready for electric cars.

Considering the environmental impact doesn't begin to dawn on the climatards, maybe the bill to replace the battery might give them the "shock" needed to wake up.

@BizSuitStacy All "their" money is free. They send billions of tax dollars to the Ukraine and get a few million in their bank accounts. Easy peasy.
JimBeam · M
@BizSuitStacy

It won't matter to them, because these tards don't own an electric car.

Any application to build a nuclear power plant will send the environmental fanatics into absolute fits of rage. Even if you can beat back the NIMBYs, environmental fanatics and the rest of the obstructors, a nuclear power plant will probably take about 20-30 years to go from initial application to the first uranium rod producing energy.

@graphite

I wonder how many Europeans will freeze this winter.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
Coal plants here being shut down
Persephonee · 22-25, F
Hydrogen powered cars are the actual future.

I'm not altogether sure why expensive and about-as-un-green-as-coal lithium-mining caught on instead. It shouldn't make a great deal of difference to the actual vehicle and engine manufacturers, so presumably some very influential people around the world see more money in digging up 250 tons (US) per car, than in hydrogen, which is very plentiful and easily manufactured in an entirely green way if you're deriving your energy from green (incs nuclear, of course) sources.
Persephonee · 22-25, F
@JimBeam yes sorry didn't make that clear but everyone probably knew what I meant!
JimBeam · M
@Persephonee
Actually, I only think that 1% of people knew what you meant. Fuel cells are never talked about, because the libs just want your money. They don't give two shits about the climate.

Wealthy liberals fly on private jets, and lecture you about using a clothes dryer instead of a clothes line.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
They don’t mind digging up half a mountain for one battery but you can’t harm a leaf for a drop of oil or ounce of coal. It’s never been about science it’s about them imposing their morals and ethics on everybody else.

@sunsporter1649 House is turning up more and more Biden corruption but nothing will come of it. Any referrals to the DoJ for prosecution will be dismissed immediately. Democrats are above the law.
Carissimi · F
They are not stupid, they are devious. They are destroying the planet, not saving it. They don’t care about the planet or about humans, or any species on earth for that matter.
JimBeam · M
@Carissimi

They're demons.
ron122 · 41-45, M
These leftist clowns are too stupid to realize that the technology isn't there to go to all electric EV's. It will have to be a slow transition as technology advances.
JimBeam · M
Exactly, Ron. We will get there, but it won't happen tomorrow.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Their next plan will be to have one giant battery to use as the power plant🤭
JimBeam · M
@Virgo79
I'm sure they will.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Wait till they find out how much petroleum it takes to grease windmills.
JimBeam · M
@MrBrownstone

They will never figure that out.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
If Biden had been president in the 1920s, he'd have issued an executive order to start slaughtering horses and spewing hateful rhetoric about buggy makers and blacksmiths profiteering and not paying their fair share,
after a few years the batteries go bad,,like buying a new motor when replaced,then the old batteries start to pile up ,,then do we bury them,,
graphite · 61-69, M
@jackrabbit10 $15,000-$20,000 for a new battery.
@graphite throw away cars,,going to spend that much buy a new one,,
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
I don’t know what they know. but yes electric vehicles are in their infancy. It will take time.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Jonjdw In the meantime there is always this to fall back on.

Baremine · 70-79, C
@sunsporter1649 but doesn't that horse pass methane? Environmentalists certainly do.
