It is great that Britain has a person of colour as Prime Minister.

I don't like Rishi Sunak's politics at all but the fact that his ethnicity wasn't a barrier to him getting to the top is a good thing. I can't think of any major European country that has ever had a non-white leader. If you can, let me know in the comments.

The UK is not a 'black' country though so there's still a significant disparity with the diaspora of nationalities living in the country. Have there ever been 'native' people in the UK or anywhere in Europe with dark-coloured skin?

Also Rishi Sunak is a wealthy elite so the right-wing conservatives will be in heaven to have a 'member' of the elite corporate cartel now the PM of the UK.

Unlike here in Australia where us 'white' people are a new invention in the last 200 or so years and indigenous Australians with primarily dark skin have occupied the lands comprising modern Australia for upwards of 10000 years before caucasians 'discovered' the place.
