Climate Change Nazis Now want to Destroy the Scotch Industry

Scotland is famous for the whisky it makes. But to make it, distillers heat the mixture by burning the ancient dried peat — which is matted grass and vegetable matter found in Scotland’s bogs that took centuries to compact into a medium that burns like wood or soft coal. It is this process that gives Scotch its smooth, smoky flavor.

Because it is a natural product of the earth, and because it is burned to distill the whisky, that makes peat a “fossil fuel.” And guess what that means? Yep, it is something that climate nazi's want to ban.

Is it so unreasonable an expectation for the climate change nazi's to settle for windmills and unicorn farts to replace the peat?

Next up for the climate change fascists is a ban on meat and dairy products. We can eat bugs or Bill Gates' fake meat instead.

@graphite There are already alternatives to meat that Bill Gates doesn't have anything to do with. I don't think you're ever going to see a ban on meat. I think if anything, you're going to see a free market solution, where externalities get priced in, and meat is going to go up in cost, but you'll always be able to buy it if you want to.

@ItsSteve Like soylent green, perhaps?

@sunsporter1649 In the movie or the book? Soylent Green in the book was a combination of soybeans and lentils. In the movie it was human flesh.

But, no, there are a bunch of meat substitutes out there right now, obviously, some of which are starting to taste a lot like meat. I'm not a vegetarian, myself. I'm fine with meat eating, but a lot of meat production does have negative effects on the environment, both in terms of climate change and more generally.

@ItsSteve My pet duck eats cockroaches, I'll stick to ribeyes and cheeseburgers

@sunsporter1649 Nothing stopping you. Nobody's going to ban meat.

@ItsSteve Just like nobody is gonna ban the Washington Redskins?

@sunsporter1649 You're bringing up an entirely different topic and I'm not going to engage with it. Much of these threats are people getting self righteous and upset about things that haven't happened.

This thing started with the false claim that they're planning on outlawing peat in whiskey, and now people are outraged Bill Gates is making them eat bugs.
