Capitalism, why are people against it?

It what makes America the most economically advanced country! Why prefer Socialism over Capitalism?

My observations over my lifetime seem to show me that on its own it means one person ends up owning everything, all competition is removed and services etc are provided purely for profit not for good. It increases inequity it doesn't decrease it.

@OldBrit isnt that socialism? According to Wikipedia, Capitalism is free market.

@OldBrit probably another democrats' propagandas? I dont know.

@MarthaT why do we need market's and monopolies intervention by various governments then?

The point of capitalism is to be the monopoly in any market. Since once you have that you can charge what you like and people have to pay it as there is no competition. You as the owner then great super rich, create another monopoly in another service or commodity and get mega rich, another... Uber rich etc etc.

Until all monopolies are owned by one person who we all pay for everything and are probably dependent on for our pay as well.

@MarthaT point me out some free markets please
...then to make even more obscene hoarding of wealth for the fat cats, regulations for safe working, healthy envionments at work, and basic levels of service get stripped away. So you get to charge an increasingly obscene amount, not only for goods to make life more comfortable but even basic necessities, like water supplies and heating and lighting esp in winter, as well as cutting back on consumer rights.

I used the word "hoarding" at the start. Which is what it is. The ultra rich already have far more money that they could spend in 20 lifetimes for them and their family. It's hoarding money just for the sake of it. If someone hoarded bits of rubbish in their home, they'd be considered sick . Why is it considered different for those who hoard obscene wealth?

@autumngirl27 this is nay different than the 19th century. It is almost the same! They should make wealth illegal.

@MarthaT In a civilized society there can never be a free market. Regulation will always be required to prevent the rise of monopolies and monopsonies in addition to the regulations required to simply prevent fraud and the further degradation of the poor.
