So here's the deal with having a gay nominee. The majority of Americans support gay rights. And because nearly all of those people vote Democrat, the Democrats won't lose much (if any) support by nominating a gay person.
However, having a gay nominee will embolden Republicans to vote against him. Republicans who only vote sometimes will definitely vote just to stop Buttigieg from becoming president. Whereas if it's just another straight establishment Democrat, they won't like him, but they might not care enough to vote in that election.
I don't like that being gay would be an issue, but considering we're extremely close to losing our Democracy, all I want right now is to keep Democrats in power. Everything else doesn't matter until Fascism is defeated.

@BohemianBabe You have made some very valid points here. I do agree, defeating fascism is priority number one.

I think he’d be a great choice, also something I noticed with those running in the primaries against Biden is they were not well portrayed during that time by the media. They just didn’t come across on the screen as well as in person. I had a chance to meet and talk with Beto and he was very convincing live one on one. I think he’s going to be a great Governor for Texas and would make a great president too.

@BackyardShaman I certainly agree about Beto but I'm still more excited about Pete.

Yeah. I get that. I liked him over all the other candidates during the last primaries. He'd have been a good president, I think.
But there's always the future-so maybe someday. I think the more he stays in the spotlight and stays the kind of politican he is, there's a real chance of it someday.

From what I know of him, he would for sure be one of my top picks top run. The only problem I see is we already know what the opposition did with and to a Black candidate and eventual President, so I'm afraid the haters would come out so strongly opposed that Pete wouldn't have a chance.

He was the best of the bunch in 2020. How much better off we would be right now instead that senile old fart Biden.
Grateful4you · M
@hunkalove I had no idea how racist Biden actually is, it really blew me away.

@Grateful4you How so ?

@bijouxbroussard I had a link last week and now I can't find it. If I do come across it I will forward to you.

Idk. He seems like more of the same. Though I admit my sensibilities are more left leaning.
ron122 · 41-45, M
Yep, he's going to get rid of all those racist roads.🤣 He's a joke.
Oh

If Buttigieg were on the ticket, he would definitely have my vote. But I agree with the points raised by @BohemianBabe. We can’t risk the hate vote putting more fascists in power. 🙁
