Rule # 3: We are still better off without the partisan hack off the Supreme Court.
Anyone who considers angry parents domestic terrorists is worse than a hack.
@laotzu92 Angry parents? What are you talking about?
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@SomeMichGuy Your memory seems to be short.(except on your brags) . The domestic terrorist actions based on NEA claims.

@laotzu92 we got religious extremists instead!

No, but I am not aware of all things.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, but it doesn't appear to be worthy of Lao-Tzu...
The domestic terrorist actions based on NEA claims.
I looked this up, and was not aware of the letter and that part of the CRT hubbub.

The fear of being able to look squarely at issues of "privilege"--in its current meaning in the context of social justice/social issues--is unworthy of a country which believes itself "great" and "exceptional". We are a country truly comprised of foreigners, fundamentally made of immigrants in various waves, we are all from elsewhere, even the "First Nations" are just an earlier group of immigrants from a different direction/different directions (unless & until a new cradle of civilization in the Americas is discovered).

But the subjugation of peoples esp. from Africa was not truly stopped by a signature, and CRT is about how the ongoing subjugation of esp. those peoples was accomplished. Poll taxes, Jim Crow laws, surely, but red-lining has been a real thing in the North.

Using fear of what CRT might make us have to face, there have been wild-eyed prophets of doom who are afraid of their children learning a more complete version of history.

To weaponize parents to tilt at an intellectual windmill which they fear...it does not seem extreme to consider it a act of terrorism against the landscapes of our thoughts. Odd that a Taoist would be unappreciative of this.

Odd that people who think school should teach such Creationism ("because Darwinism is 'just a theory' ")--and even, perhaps, encompass Holocaust deniers, climate change deniers, perhaps even deniers of provable facts of other kinds--would be afraid of a school of thought which asks us to examine our own position in comparison to others...

@SomeMichGuy i apologize for sending you that comment. It was meant for the original OP. I personally think Garland is an AG in the "best" Eric Holder tradition (An AG is there to get the president's adversaries).
Your next five paragraphs are nonsense but i'm not going to take valuable time out of my shortening life to attempt to disabuse you. But suggesting that people who think CRT is crap are creationists is the kind of broadbrush that progressives use indiscriminately.
Best regards.
@laotzu92 lol

You better go reread your holy text.

Bye for...ever

😂😂😂

Looks like I must have thrown @laotzu92 off his game and he got confused as to who he was replying.

You see, last week I asked him if he was a Harding, Coolidge or Hoover man.

And he quickly replied, "Coolidge."

So I asked him to read an "America First" speech by Coolidge and he's said few words since. (now THAT's definitely Coolidge-esque. 😂)

@beckyromero Read Amity Shlaes' bio of Coolidge. Great book.
Do you know the story about the woman who sat next to "Silent Cal" at a dinner party and said, "I made a bet that I could get you to say more than two words" ?
His reply: "You lose."
It was a fine speech and indicates your wide learning.

@laotzu92

Yes, I heard about the dinner party. 🙂

And a groundbreaking ceremony where he shoveled a clump of dirt and said, "Good dirt."

But there are aspects of Coolidge's presidency that are often overlooked.

Coolidge understood the barbarity of the Armenian Genocide by Turkey. The President had promoted a worldwide relief agency for displaced and starving Armenians.

President Biden understands this as well.

Coolidge also signed into law the Revenue Act of 1924, which is the legal basis for the House Ways & Means Committee demanding Trump's tax returns. So another good thing President Coolidge did.
