Trump ally Rep. Scott Perry says FBI seized his cellphone

One day after the raid on former President Donald Trump‘s home, the FBI has seized the cell phone of a Republican member of Congress.

Rep. Scott Perry, Pennsylvania Republican, said in a statement to Fox News that three FBI agents handed him a warrant and demanded his phone.

“This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone. They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who would have made arrangements for them to have my phone if that was their wish. I’m outraged — though not surprised — that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland’s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress,” he said.

Perry is one of multiple GOP Members of Congress who sought a presidential pardon from Trump before Biden's inaugural.

You don't seek a presidential pardon UNLESS you KNOW you've done something ILLEGAL.

Lock him up!

@MarmeeMarch
That's why they call it a pardon -
But he didn't get one. Hence now the search warrant to look at his phone.

@beckyromero For what are they looking for?
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@sunsporter1649

It may involve the fake electors scandal. That's what I'm hearing.

@beckyromero Since when is it illegal to contest the results of an election?

Oh, don't "irritate" China. Better to kowtow.

F*CK China! F*ck the Ruskies, too!

Once the results have been certified and any court challenges have ended (see Bush v. Gore) and electors have been chosen based on those results.

At that point, only CONGRESS can question the validity of any of the electoral ballots.

Not the Vice President and not state legislators acting at the behest of the President or a Member of Congress.

@MarmeeMarch
Then antagonize China - she has no business going there - does she ? I mean what purpose was her trip ?
Newt went.

If I had my way, I'd vote to REVOKE PNTR for China.

And help encourage so-called American companies to shift their factories from China to Central and South America.

And build THREE aircraft carriers for each one they do - and build them BEFORE they'd complete their next one.

@beckyromero "Another potential weakness in the Electoral College system is the existence of so-called “faithless electors,” who for whatever reason choose to vote against their state’s chosen candidate. There have been 157 such faithless electors over the years, starting way back in 1796, when a Pennsylvania elector changed his vote from John Adams to Thomas Jefferson, for reasons that remain unclear. Today, many states require electors to take a formal pledge to uphold their state’s choice, but 21 states have no such requirement.

On the other hand, supporters of the Electoral College see it as an integral part of our federal union, and a necessary way to give the states, as well as the people, a role in choosing the leadership of the government. Now, as in 1787, it’s seen as a critical way of preventing large urban centers from dominating the political process at the expense of rural areas. "

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that states have the ability to enforce an elector's pledge.

Maine and Nebraska award their electoral votes by giving one for each Congressional district won and two more for the winner of the popular vote in the state.
