When someone comes at you with, "I'm a veteran" or "I served," you pretty much know what you're in for there, too.

@Graylight That's true... It generally means the person was nicknamed "Cookie," was permanently assigned to the kitchen detail, and served hash to platoons of hungry, fighting soldiers. Kitchen detail is important work, but the person feels they need to call out their service to random strangers on the Internet.
