Where Are The Riots?

The SCOTUS opinion on Roe v Wade was leaked to anger the masses. We had threats from leftist militant groups like Jane's Revenge and Ruth Sent Us. Protestors demonstrated in front of the homes of conservative Chief Justices in obvious atrempt to intimidate. Chuck Schumer's comment that such a decision would unleash a whirlwind was followed up by a failed assassination attempt on Kavanaugh.

Wasn't Roe v Wade supposed to be the red line in the sand? They promised to unleash Hell on America, and yet...

Sure, there have been assaults and some property damage, but nothing like the mass destruction of the George Floyd riots.

Since SCOTUS delivered its decision, the militant left’s reaction seem muted to me.

Does it seem that way to anyone else? Or is it too early to say?

Just a homemade flame thrower in LA and typical Portland, OR nonsense. Maybe we’re so used to violent leftists, we’re no longer appalled.

Kind of like watching the news where they say “35 shot in Chicago over this weekend with 9 dead” and you think “wow, big improvement over the last few weeks”
Paladin · 61-69, M
@carpediem Actually, the riots in Portland weren't leftists. That's just what the fake news has been feeding you. They are actually anarchists. And you do understand that anarchists are opposed to any authority figure, right?
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
a bunch of idiots blocking roads/preventing commerce; look like insurrectionists to me... 🤔

SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Well I'm not sure if you agree, but I firmly believed the BLM riots of 2020 were coordinated and paid for by PACs looking to defeat Trump.

They are not putting that kind of money into this election, because they know its a waste of money.

I'm seeing it as a Democratic fund raising opportunity. Get people all worked up, then make promises to do something about it if only you will support Democrat candidates in the next election.

I feel bad for anyone putting their faith in Nancy Pelosi or Joe Biden on this. Two swamp rats who have been in Congress for decades...if they thought abortion rights were so important and so under threat why didn't they attempt to codify it when they had multiple chances over decades of time to do so?
@SumKindaMunster I think your points are valid. It should become clear with more time.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@SumKindaMunster You could be completely right. I do find one thing to be fact. Democrats don’t solve problems. They use them as fund raising and voter turnout opportunities.

"...the militant left’s reaction seem muted to me."

The word is probably out on the left not to do anything drastic.

That would make their coming electoral disaster this November even worse.
@Thinkerbell my thinking as well. Ok to do on Trump's watch, but not Biden.

Some companies are being hailed for offering to pay for abortions. Maybe because abortions are cheaper than maternity care and training new employees? Such benevolence.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@graphite

Of course... follow the money.
@graphite You're right. Corporations view abortion as the lower cost alternative than employees going on maternity/paternity leave, or even quitting.
Slade · 56-60, M
@graphite Don't pay a nanny - take it in the fanny!😈

I saw videos of violent protests today. Not sure were they were. I’m trying to give my mind a break from all this negative Leftist lunacy.
@Carissimi it may still happen.
4meAndyou · F
It's too early to say. Arizona is having riots at the state capitol building. Antifa has been spotted among them. One young man has been arrested for attempted murder of a cop with a home made flamethrower. Some very young children of a state representative were trapped inside the state capitol building and they were reported to be crying with fear.
@4meAndyou it may still happen.
Carla · 61-69, F
Let me think on it a while🤔
I feel certain i can come up with a great conspiracy theory.

George soros went to all the thousands of people out protesting and paid them to keep it down a notch. Because rioting looks bad.
Yes, that's it.

I'm sorry you won't have a whataboutism to use since the violence hasn't happened.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@Carla

"no one ever, anywhere/everywhere i look, condoned the riots in the summer of 2020."

Of course they did.
Have you never heard of the DAs that didn't prosecute many of the summer 2020 rioters and looters?

And how many of the summer 2020 rioters were released without having to raise any bail?
And were any of the summer 2020 rioters were held in jail for a year and a half without trial?

ACTIONS, Carla, not empty words.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
Slade · 56-60, M
@Thinkerbell Fer Sure!
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
The reason that there has not been any violent riots is because they don't want to be placed on one of the Red Flag Lists that their messiah just signed into Law.
Chuck Schumer is no Donald Trump.

Thank goodness.
Slade · 56-60, M
@Thinkerbell I'm sure Biden sampled the jungle fever!

Or that rodent Valerie Jarrett
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@Slade

He wouldn't know, unless it was on his teleprompter.
Slade · 56-60, M
@Thinkerbell BBC on the prompt! That'll wake his ass up!
Mostly peaceful insurrection thank you 🤬

Let’s just hope it stays that way

DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
They’ve been protesting. There aren’t any riots
@DeluxedEdition Yeah. We established that already. The question is why no rioting when there were explicit threats of violence?
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@BizSuitStacy generally behavior men participate in not women
@DeluxedEdition uh huh. So there are no men out there, and the George Floyd riots of 2020 were caused exclusively by men. Got it. 🙄
Tres13 · 51-55, M
Kyle is on patrol
carpediem · 61-69, M
@Tres13 That episode likely has some of these would be anarchists thinking twice. Good call
