Gilead - Phase One Started

Phase 1 completed: overturn Roe v Wade
Phase 2 commenced: Justice Thomas suggests that contraception and same sex marriage are next

Welcome to Gilead

The only that matters at this point, is making sure the GOP does not gain control of either house. Then appoint 5 new Justices, otherwise nothing matters, as every single issue will be decided by a Supreme Court that does NOT represent the people.

Not just same sex marriage...same sex relationships all together.

@JaggedLittlePill It's time for some Texans to stop fooling themselves into thinking this is about personal freedom. They now have to confront it face on.

@JaggedLittlePill And right after that will be Inter Racial relationships too because we can't have that either... 😖

@spjennifer I am of the mind they will go further than that.

I believe, after much reading and research, that they have been working at this bit by bit since Brown v. Board of Education. (Segregation)
They lost all their power at that point. They couldn't legally discriminate, and oppress anymore.

I believe the Supreme Court should be abolished. If they are going to claim that it is up to the states..then let the state supreme courts have final decision for their states.

If they want to claim the federal government has no basis to create laws which ensure the freedoms of all citizens in every state...then they are a useless institution which has only served to dangle rights over our heads when they so choose.

@Northwest Absolutely agree.

@JaggedLittlePill 100% in agreement, the SCOTUS was never intended to do what it is doing at this moment in time, it is far past time for it to be abolished as the partisan and useless institution that it has become now. Perhaps it's time for a new "Bill of Rights" with certain specific Rights unalienable and entrenched in the Constitution. If Abortion rights are supported by 60-75% of our Population, if the polls are to be believed, then how the hell is it that 9 people are deciding for that significant a majority without there being a revolt???

@JaggedLittlePill Justice Thomas mentioned Contraceptives, same sex marriage, and even homosexuality.

Yesterday was Alan Turing's birthday. The father of modern day computer science. He was convicted in 1952 of homosexuality, and had to pick jail or chemical castration. He picked the latter. He was dead 2 years later, at age 41 of a possible suicide (poisoning).

@Northwest Yes, I remember.

@spjennifer I noticed that Thomas stopped short of interracial marriage.

@Northwest Although if it does come up then he may be able to remove the albatross from his neck.
