In his book, [i]Battle for the American Mind[/i], Pete Hegseth says it is too late to fix public schools and too late to even try to reform the teachers unions or the NES..
He recommends that all parents who want their children to actually be educated pull their children out of public schools immediately and enroll them in private or parochial schools if they can. Scholarships are available for low income children.
