Besides buying a new car, is there anything we can do about these gas prices?

It seems like every week I pay $10 more for gas. When is the price going to stop rising?

Take the bus, carpool, organize a work-from-home effort at least part time, cut down on travel and unnecessary trips, let grass grow a little longer...

Gas prices are an indication of the "healthy free market." It's supply and demand.
@Graylight You think gas prices are a symptom of a healthy, free market and not a symptom of reduced oil production?

@Graylight Well that's one of the dumbest things I've heard in a while. Some people have a life you know. They don't sit at home all day posting crap on SW like some people.

@LvChris Until the US is designed so that we don't HAVE to drive, I'm going to complain.

@SinlessOnslaught where in the US? You technically don't need a car in NYC.
@basilfawlty89 You technically don't need a car anywhere but you'll be walking on sidewalks that end abruptly, in an envirement where nobody notices you unless you're a big, metal object with lights on it.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@SinlessOnslaught not the case in NYC. You have cabs, the subway, etc. You really don't even need a car unless you're staying in far outlying areas of Queens, Staten Island or Brooklyn.
@basilfawlty89 It is the case in 99% of the US.

@SinlessOnslaught maybe those states should have spent money on infrastructure
@lispoiledbrat Completely agreed. But they didn't. So here we are.

@ron122 So one needs his own F350 to live their daily life?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@basilfawlty89 And Philly. And Chicago. And...

Everyone asks what they can do but all they want is what they want.
ron122 · 41-45, M
@Graylight No I don't like Fords.
@Graylight So in conclusion, the rising gas prices are due to decreased oil production in the USA.

@SinlessOnslaught Um, no. Not solely.
