148. Slightly more than I expected but the turd won't flush.

@Burnley123 That's catastrophic for him. He's a dead man walking.

@Burnley123 How many would have been necessary to "oust" him, please?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@helenS 180.

@helenS 180. He did worse in the confidence vote than Teresa May before him, and she only lasted a few months after that.

@Burnley123 @SunshineGirl Thank you! 🌷🌷

@LegendofPeza Very much so. He's now in Theresa May territory for having no authority.

His party will lose the pending by-elections and even more shit will emerge from partygate so it will get even worse. With so many voting against, there will be more open dissent within the Tory ranks because rebels have more confidence.

He won't resign and they will have to wait a year to get rid of him. The odds of him surviving to fight another election are bleak though.

@Burnley123 'they will have to wait a year to get rid of him.'

That's not necessarily the case. The Tory Party can always change their own rules.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@LegendofPeza Kind of. From what I can remember, May was constitutionally safe after winning a confidence vote but was then persuaded to resign after things got even worse. It could happen with Johnson but he has fought tooth and nail so far. Half his life has been about escaping scandals. He is resilient in that sense.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Burnley123 Another point is that either a large majority of backbenchers voted against him, or a large number of Ministers did.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@MartinII That is true. He has some staunch back bench supporters so it must have been at least a third of the front benches voted against.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 I'm not sure if it was Brady himself or another Tory MP , but the point was made recently that the party could always change their own rules (re: the twelve month safety net) if there was the stomach for it.

@LegendofPeza What a shot show.

Exact Johnson to try and bring back hanging and mandatory national anthems in schools to 'appease the base'
