How should inflation and greed be combated?

The USDOJ needs to crack down on antitrust laws and wage 1980 AT&T style break-ups across the fortune 500. With forcwd removal of executives and board members of brocken up companies.

That would free up the market as we are in dier lacking of a "free market"

And some of that might work in a text book in a centralized economy. Truth is you cant combat inflation with a Western style Government. "Freedom" wont allow it. And you cant do it with an American economy because the Government is working for the corporations, not the people.. So there are no checks and balances..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman it’s a two way street. We are living in unprecedented times and inflation is important too. It helps things get going but people must have an increase in wages to compensate.

@Sadwithasmile But thats what makes it inflation.. I know this is a big idea to get our head around right now. But Money is a fiction. Just like Cryto currencies. But we all agree to use it and that makes it work. The important fact is that it takes so many hours labour to buy a loaf of bread, a liter of milk or a new car.. We just use money to express that..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman oh I understand completely. We were taught that in economics. But we need money, because currently it’s our best possible form of value. Gold is too hard to transport and store, it is also too expensive to produce. Paper money is currently our best form of value.

@Sadwithasmile Exactly.. But internally in a nation (say America, but it applies anyplace) inflation doesnt count as long as you still only have to work the same number of hours and the bills get paid. Where it comes unstuck is when the nation has to import goods and services to keep the market going. Then those values are tested against different economies and thw amout of hours you have to put in to get an imported TV, car or bottle of Champagne puts a stress on the economy and something gets out of balance. This complicates matter. as either the price to the consumer goes up. or the government does something to lower the price, like a subsidy. and the nation pays the difference and "borrows" it. 😷
