People say billionaires are running the country, so, Why do they like us to have lots of guns?

zonavar68 · 51-55, M
To have the plebs fight amongst themselves and keep them distracted from focusing on the real issues such as wars over oil, wealth concentration amongst the elite, command/control of populations, eradication of civil liberties, WEF's agenda 2030, the bullshit of the Covid plandemic, etc.

Democrats in congress want to pass gun safety laws, that will also help law enforcement.
@SW-User OMG! A poster with common sense how refreshing.
RedBaron · M
@SW-User But it won't do anything to prevent mass shootings. It's naive to think it will.
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@SW-User they never did anything effective.

Because they want us to kill each other with the guns, and so does the NRA.

@SW-User Those lead paint chips are really kicking in!
Weapons oligarchs are some of the wealthiest out there.
RedBaron · M
Not defending anyone, but that's a ridiculous statement. Nobody wants mass shootings or for anyone in particular to have guns.
@RedBaron Well, that's someone, not nobody. And imo, its too many somebody's since these shootings happen too often.
RedBaron · M
@MistyCee Listen to yourself. You just said that people other than actual murderers are actually in favor of innocent people, including children, being slaughtered. You must have a screw or two loose yourself to think that.
@RedBaron No, I know I'm being a pain in the neck, but if you look back, you'll see that what I said was that there are murderers who want mass shootings, and that there are many more people who stand to profit more by not doing things that might make it harder for them to commit them.

I'm one myself. Granted I don't get money from gun manufacturers or expect to profit from electing the candidates who protect them, but I am one of those Americans who prioritizes other things and has chosen to send my kids to private schools where I have a little more influence on the security.

My guess is most folks, including you and me don't want bad things to happen, but there are lots of bad things, and we make priorities and vote accordingly.

That's kind of how any consensual government, especially democracies work. There are hard choices to be made, like women's rights to their bodies or the rights of fetuses, or paying taxes to subsidize others.

Some folks, for example, prioritize their own blood or people that look or think like them over others. They might be white supremacists, black racists, communists, or people who like the idea of a melting pot/mongrelization of the human race, globalists, nationalists, or whatever.

But, imo, angelifying them is little better than demonizing them.

Take a neighbor I have, who's pro 2nd Amendment because he thinks he needs guns to protect his family from blacks and foreigners. I disagree with his priorities and his reasoning, and when he says that mass shootings and dead children are the price we pay to live free, it pisses me off, but that's because I disagree with his priorities and how he wants to achieve them.

AOC had a poll going. Asked who you trusted more, politicians or billionaires? Poll was running 76% for billionaires.
jackson55 · M
@Changeisgonnacome Evil, just like billionaires.
Slade · 56-60, M
@jackson55 Surprised it wasn't higher
RedBaron · M
@jackson55 She hasn't done anything to earn my trust, and I live in NYC, not far from her district.

the CEO of the NRA is a millionaire
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@SW-User so why do billionaires want us to have guns?
SW-User
@Changeisgonnacome To keep us divided and conquered
Slade · 56-60, M
@SW-User oh no! Kill him!
Sorry, you lost me at "People say"
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@Grateful4you Bernie Sanders, a political leader who has a significant following said it. Obviously you knew that. So be lost, then. You obviously are.
@Changeisgonnacome Thank you for the clarification. I certainly consider Bernie a credible source. I think there are a fair number of billionaires who have the same concerns with gun laws as ordinary folks. I haven't a clue what the stats are though.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
They don't! Soros is anti-gun! And so is a lot of his ilk!
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
